Sweeping away fives

I've seen voting sweeps where my vote count drops, but the 1's seem to disappear.

Since I last tracked my votes on my most recent stories, maybe 5-6 days, two stories have lower vote counts.

One dropped from 50 to 48 votes, but the vote dropped from 4.74 to 4.71. That is two 5 votes.

Another went from 31 to 30 votes, and dropped from a 4.26 to 4.20. Another 5 vote.

I'm not in a contest, so I really don't care, but I thought it odd.

Not all duplicate votes are necessarily fraudulent. The same server slowdowns that result in dupicate posts on the forums can cause duplicate votes on the stories.

The vote sweeps don't care what a duplicate vote is, only that it's a duplicate -- they remove duplicae 2,3,and 4 votes as well as duplicate 1 and five votes.
