Swannie's Random Stuff

Quieter than a holiday week in politics. Not really, I have just been off doing things. Its been beautiful weather during the week, so I have been stretching the beach running distances out by a few more kilometers each day and enjoying the autumn leaves. Autumn here is a month at best so deciduous trees tend to just turn brown and drop without playing through the colours. We are currently in the middle of a very late in the season cyclone that has made its way down the coast, so by the end of this it will probably be all sticks.

Things are gradually reopening here. Cafes and restaurants are open again, offices less so, but you can meet people at cafes etc, so time to get a bit more business happening. After all the baking that has happened lately, I tried on my go-to little black dress. A touch tight so I shall have to work on that. This is the least bulgy view. Note that the zip hasn't been done up all the way and will need a few more miles of running to get there next week.

Not that I am too worried. At my age the womanly bits and pieces and tum and lower half are rounding out regardless. I like cooking and having a good time too much anyway. Talking of which, I had a single avocado left on the tree so I thought I would turn it into a topping for nachos, but then somehow evolved into a spicy rice and enchilada sauce bake and then the cornchips to just eat it with.

A run on the beach followed by helping retying all the lines on the boat for the storm, inflating bumpers to go around it, stripping an orange tree of all its fruit, and I just fell into the hot bath and stayed there. Talking of which, we are importing a Japanese bath and modifying the auto-fill and water reheat systems to Australian standards. Just set the temperature and it keeps the water there. Until then, the bath out in the studio with the screen on and a bottle of wine nearby. The odd strategic lose some water and refill it from time to time and I stayed out there for quite a while.

Your bath time is a tonic for those of us in UK who are deemed 'extremely vulnerable ' and are sheltered until the next of never ( and that's a long, long time!)

Beautiful pictures! You have a awesome body!

I’m envious of your bath time., I can no longer lift my legs high enough to get in or out and I don’t have space for a hoisting system so have to stick with walk in showers.

Autumn is one of my favourite times, all sorts of beautiful colours before the trees lose their leaves.

I love the randomness of the pictures and the fact that the naughty ones are presented with the 'common' ones. It's like life itself, someone said philosophically.

Autumn is my favorite season. Here where I live, unfortunately trees do not really change colors. But I have been to many places here where they do. Such an amazing site to see.

I see no need to fret over that little black dress, you're still rocking it!

Rice enchilada bake? Now that looks good. Am I write to assume there is no meat in it? Just too bad you had only a single avocado left.

It's quite funny as baths are not a common thing over here, we are more a shower nation. I might have one once or twice a week, usually because my legs are sore from running or I feel like playing. So yes, they probably feature as inevitably it means I am in the mood.

Showers are the go to, baths denote play time.
Most of the native eucalyptus don't lose their leaves or change colours, but some species that have been put in gardens and lining some of the city streets do. The jump from what would be summer anywhere else to a mild but wet winter is the space of a month or so, so the leaves and autumn is a bit of a quick season. The local aboriginal Nyoongar people have 60000 years history and apart from having 2 ice ages and warming cycles in their oral history, have this local area as having 6 seasons in a year, which is more accurate.

A day in my life... not quite but its fun putting things up as a snapshot as well as the interesting pics. Take what you need from it, otherwise fast scroll down to the ones you want to see.

They don't change here on the whole either, just certain ones and areas. I haven't posted any of the orchards yet which are beautiful colours. Probably stripped after the storm.
What you don't see on the dress is the zip not yet done up. This I will work on. I'm feeling it on the boobs too so will have to see if I have done a disservice and popped up a size.
I had some beef mince in that one. I normally make a mix with 3 types of beans in there as well, as a giant protein hit, then freeze portions that can be used as a base for other dishes. This one sort of went beef chilli, lets turn it into nachos, no, lets add rice and go risotto, maybe a doria bake, hell lets just mix it all up. Yes, there was just one avocado left on the tree at present. I'll have to head up to the avocado farms during the week and get a crate.

Great pics all around. The black dress couldn't be too far off, zipped or not. It looks fine.
Indeed Japanese bath system that reheat and fill by themselves are some of the greatest inventions. Pull up the Home app as you arrive at the station, tell the bath to fill up 100 litres and you can strip off and fall in as soon as you are in the door.

You give me so much to comment on, I don't know where to start, the beautiful still water, is that a local river? It must be the best time of the year to capture those autumnal colours, Is the second photo a local park, it is so well tended, is this a morning or evening shot? healthy eating seems to be your aim, and it looks so appetizing.

You do like a full bath, would the Japanese bath be expensive to run? hope its suitable for two or more: :D when you have time, could you take a photo?

Happily I don't have to be selective, I love all your stuff, and appreciate that you answer all our posts.

I can't quite remember what ours used to be, 100 or 150L but yes the remote filling and maintaining heat is the idea. The whole wet shower room and bath is the goal, separate from the dry bathroom.

The still water is at a local park with ponds in the middle of it. Just over the road is the best bakery, run by a Singaporean couple, so not a bad place to walk out of the city too, grab a coffee and a danish and then wander around the place or sit under a tree. Second one is in parklands leading down to a boat ramp on the river. Each of the trees has a plaque with a fallen service person or volunteer. Both are mid afternoon shots, perhaps 3:30-4:30pm.

Japanese baths are designed for two. You shower next to them and then hop in the water clean, so the same water is shared. They take 100-150L so in a water restricted country it is not something you want to be doing everyday for cost. The pool outside is replenished from evaporation by underground water pumped up so not on the metered scheme water.
We have to get the gas and electrical systems converted and approved so it may be a few months yet.

I try to. My calendar reminded me today that I would have been flying out of Japan for the US this evening if the regular schedule was on. Fortunately Japan came out of lockdown yesterday so things might get happening there. I don't know when travel will restart but it looks like visa systems and business people starting first so perhaps. I wouldn't mind visiting Hiroko's round tummy before her due date if nothing else.

A Japanese bath would not be practical here from a cost perspective. We stay under water restrictions year round practically.

Garden restrictions yes, cost restrictions otherwise on an escalating scale here. You wouldn't use it daily but life is short and we are re-accumulating things that have brought us joy over the years

I like the photo of the mexican dish. I think i would like that. You do have some nice autumn leaves there.
A reheating bath is a good idea if you are going to stay in there for a long time. I imagine it would be for your winter not summer. You have a pool for that.
I saw that you had a big storm there. i hope there was not much damage.

You could have the Mexican one, no preservatives. Yes, the bath is a winter idea. I can jump in the pool or spa otherwise. We were talking about that yesterday when the bloke was going down on me. He enjoyed that he was getting my smell from the beginning rather than a nose of chlorine or other pool stuff for the first seconds.
ALL of those photos look beautiful and delicious!!!

A few from here and there to appeal to senses.

Winter has arrived. Well, winter arrived two weeks ago and rained for a fortnight. This week with calendar winter, it has fined up again and gone back to 23C weather.
So, out and about the place taking advantage of the June clear skies before it gets a little bit colder than this.
The ferry landing on the other side of the river leading to the zoo has some new sculptures installed. A numbat with a bit of frilled neck lizard insiration, with meerkats looking on. The zoo is open again so everyone visiting and getting the numbers up.

We already had a culture of coffee and food vans around parks and even with cafes open again, noone is abandoning those that were open for business all through. Its quite nice sitting on a milk crate and having a coffee and something to eat in the park. There is an overwhelming mood to not go back to the rat race and embrace a bit of relaxed life again in the "new normal".

Beautiful days for beginning of winter swimming. Some of the beach was washed away with the cyclone but it is starting to regenerate again with the tides. Still very nice in the water for a swim and body surf midday as a break from other things.

Tips for best boob angles in the spa. Boobs float and then give them the "chicken fillet" bra treatment with a couple of fingers to poke some volume into them. Us old girls don't have the nice boob fat content of the younguns so need a bit of volume take up!
It's been beautiful sitting outside in the spa while working on a few things. Waterproof covers for ipads are great.

Two things have to be said

Firstly, amazing boobs.

Second, damn i miss Perth beaches

It's been ages since I visited a zoo. Actually here during social distancing and shutdown, the zoo remained open but to vehicle traffic only. Obviously not all exhibits were accessible. You can drive down a predetermined path and never leave your car or truck.

Fairly envious of your current weather there MissSwannie, it has been rather hot and raining here the past couple of weeks. Just too humid and muggy to relax in a park. At least for my taste it is.

I'm not sure why you feel 30 is old, you look amazing and they are perfect! Wait until you reach my age.

Winter has arrived.

Winter and 23 degrees used in the same sentence, we only have a few, if we are lucky 20s in our summer. like the imaginative art in the zoo.
