Pending photo upload ability returning, you shall have to visualise that I am sitting topless on a beach facing the Southern Ocean having been swimming and surfing in the mid-winter warm current drifting around from the north, about 21C. I will have to leave once the sun goes down behind the forested hills all around, as with clear skies it will get down to 3C tonight inland. Maybe 40-50 others on the beach, some clothed some not, and a pod of dolphins rounding up fish just offshore behind the break.

Satellite internet has been on the blink for the past week or so but has righted itself now. Downloads were ok, uploads were fine for text but anything with attachments were not getting through.
I have been down at the farm on the south coast. It is close to the ocean, but the Southern Ocean facing towards Antarctica, not the usual Indian Ocean. Mid winter so it has been pretty cold overnight, but the rain cleared up and blue skies prevailed for most of the last 4 or 5 days. The warm north to south current has made it around the corner, so daytime temperatures and the water temperature is about equal so everyone is surfing and swimming mid-day.

I came across the spot on the river where we used to swim as kids after school. Like then, someone has climbed a tree and tied a rope so you can swing out into the river. We used to bolt like hares out of the school gates and take the gravel road through the forest to get down there. No towels, you used to just strip down to your knickers then use your blouse/shirt afterwards to dry off a bit to put your clothes back on to head home after a spot of bombing into the river.

All said though, night times and mornings are a bit frozen, so you drop your pajamas the bare minimum for anything and then dive back under the covers. So consider a bum peek luxurious for evening fun on the farm.

The farm has flat blocks and bush forest paddocks as well. Grain and other crops on the low land as well dairy cows. Dairy, sheep and alpacas on the hillier forest blocks. There are bee hives around most of the bush block which produce honey and they are moved around the place to help with crop pollination as well.

Somewhat of a contrast in hairiness, yes. Alpacas are pretty gentle. The wool is a speciality item. They stand up to foxes too, which are introduced feral pests here, so are handy amongst the sheep.

By standards over here not a very big farm at all. It is versatile and pays its way though. The hill top area has been planted as a vineyard, so in a few more years the grapes might make an interesting wine, or at least something that makes good spaghetti sauce or stroganoff. They have been wired up high so the sheep can still graze on the grass around them now that they have grown up a bit. It pays the wages of those that live on it and run it on a day to day basis. My attachment is more sentimental but develop it further as a future sustainable asset.
What I call a cold bum is probably warm by other standards around the world, but it was strictly a pants down, get on with it, pants up again, and touch my boobs with those cold hands and the magic ends instantly.

Pretty normal for my generation, it was the rare one that didn't. The younger gens might not do it as much around the place and reserve it for the ocean more, but rivers and farm dams are fair game to most country kids still. This area has a lot of alternative lifestyle families living here so lots of fun things in the rivers bush forest still happens.

Shame there is a limit of 5 per post otherwise the ratio might mix up a bit more.
I do decide on the economics and investment of it all, plus have a certain direction. More thoughtful and knowledgeable heads contribute with the specifics and head counts. I do insist on be ecologically sound and neutral though.
