Susan Atkins

Consider me cold. I feel only indifference to her death.

I am sorry she went through brain cancer, I've known people who died of it, it isn't pretty, but like one of the people quoted in that story said...her illness doesn't negate what she did. She did it willingly.

I think that the story shows how even people who've committed the most heinous crimes can find compassion and solace in working at redemption.

As someone who's not perfect myself, that's somehow comforting. I hope she rests in peace.

So what am I supposed to feel about this? She's dead so I guess I'm supposed to feel sorry. I didn't personally know her? So I'm supposed to be unmoved. She was involved in a bloodthirsty crime so I'm supposed to be glad she's dead?

I'm not sure I really think or feel anything about her death.

The lesson here is, don't murder a famous person.

If she had been involved in an obscure crime, no one would be paying attention today and she would have been released to die at home.
