I am excited.

Usually Episode One is pretty boring, but, I'm a tried-and-true Survivor addict.
 
I'll DVR it because my brother once worked in Gabon, Africa.

From all the pictures/comments he sent, uh, this should be a good Survivor.

What about Dancing With the Stars? You get into that?

I can't believe Julianne Hough is back with that 18 yr old, guess her country album didn't go so well otherwise I thought she was going to be too busy and not able to dance this season.

And we almost saw that comedian who got ousted this week. Almost.
 
After last season, the blindside on Ozzy, Amanda playing the hidden immunity idol, Erik getting conned out of individual immunity, James injury, Chet being dragged around, Jonathon's injury, this season has a lot to live up to.

last season was really good! I never get tired of this show...

MNGuy how did I know you were going to bring up Parvati again? ;)

Anyways, according to the TV listings tonite's show is supposed to be 2 hours,
8-10pm EST........which means I"ll be missing the 2nd hour as I have to leave
for work since my shift starts 10pm.....waaaaaaa! (I'll have to tape it)

Half hour into the show, and I find no one captivating.
 
Thanks for starting this again Jen, I forgot until about halfway through about the Survivor thread so I came on to find it. I hope to post more tomorrow after I've had time to think about tonights show. Later:)
 
Seems rather lopsided so far. The first selections for the team currently having lost two members --- they seemed rather odd choices. These people do know that most of the TEAM challenges are physical in nature, right? I couldn't really believe the first vote off. Just, let's vote someone else off because I am also a slacker and don't want the focus, perhaps?

Having grown up in Maine, I enjoyed Bob, the physics teacher who was named as his team leader. I don't like Ace, and thought the scene where he lead his team doing yoga in their underwear was certainly different. I wonder how many of them thought when auditioning, "I'm going to tropical Africa to do yoga in my underwear while preparing for challenges." I think the girl who said she would have just been laughing had she tried it reflected how I would have felt as well.

My big fear, based on just how much attention the two-hour premiere spent on him, was that Randy is going deep into the game. This a guy whose CBS biography says of him that "He considers himself a ruthless bully who enjoys picking on those that were not blessed with his strength or intellect" and "He says he has never met a person who didn't eventually disappoint him."

I will say it was good to read recently that Jeff Probst has signed an extension to his Survivor contract. I may send in an audition tape next year; I've been thinking about seriously doing that once my daughter was out of high school, if the show ran that long.
 
Great show last night. glad to see the older lady go, she just didn't have it.:cool:

Good to hear from you again, almost watched Gordon Ramsey...

It's too brutal to watch when the teams are so lop-sided...

Poor guy - he hadn't been kissed in years, finds a hottie and they like each other, and she gets voted off first! Oh well, that's love.
They should have pushed more for the old lady to go first.

Cool how that team made a fishing hook, pole, string, dug up works, and caught some fish! I wonder how the old guy is going to see now.

I meant to say they dug up WORMS. Wow, this new old kbd is hard to type on.
