Because it was an effigy that had never been alive, it was neither murdered nor lynched. I do find it offensive, though, just as I find Kathy Griffin's action offensive.

That really sucks. Crime, including hate crimes, should be reported. However, hate speech is not even illegal and nobody should be charged with it. Maybe it is in some countries, but this one believes in freedom of speech.
