SCOTUS sides with Trump: won’t declare ‘right’ to abortion for illegal immigrants

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 4, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Today, the Supreme Court tossed out a lower court ruling allowing a 17-year-old illegal immigrant in government custody to obtain an abortion despite the Trump administration’s protests.

Even though the baby at the center of the case has already been aborted, the Supreme Court has prevented it from setting a legal precedent establishing a “right” to abortion for underage illegal immigrants.

“The Trump Administration deserved this victory in court, as they continue to create policies designed to support a pro-life culture in America, including defunding abortion-related policies,” said Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America.

The Trump administration’s Health and Human Services has been fighting efforts by the pro-abortion ACLU to force the government to facilitate abortions for illegal immigrant minors in its custody. Pro-life advocates have called this an effort an attempt at a “Roe v. Wade 2.0,” establishing a “right” to abortion on American soil for non-citizens.

At some point we need to stop taking about "who can get an abortion, when, and who pays for it" and start talking about "whether the government should even be involved in the discussion."

Doesn't it seem odd to you that the government can tell you that you can do something to actually decrease the number of citizens under that government? And, if that's not odd, then what do you think about that same government telling you that you must do something to increase the number of citizens or be punished under the law?

Conception, birth, abortion, and reproduction are not things government should be involved in, either pro or con, other than regulating general health standards for those procedures. Because once you open that Pandora's box, the government can do anything it wants when it comes to your body. Which means you are no longer a citizen, but are instead a slave.

Do you feel the same way about euthanasia or the use of death panels to decide if quality of life should be the end-all decision for a life too costly to contribute to the tax pool?

Marriage?

Taxes?

;)

This is the government and insisted I must buy health (and auto) insurance to enrich private corporations. They even dictate what those contractual arangements must include and cannot include.

This is the government that tells me what I can and cannot put into my body and whether I can or cannot grow said naturally occurring plants and substances. This is the government that tells me whether or not my car has to be equipped with airbags or seat belts or what do I have to wear a motorcycle helmet. This is the government that tells me how many months of the year that I am enslaved them to pay for things that I either don't approve of don't need don't use and think shouldn't be done.

This is the government that dictates how many pages of documents are required in loan documents and what those loan documents have to say in a contract between two willing parties. This is the same government that demands that I use physicians that keep computerized records of my health concerns, and insists I cannot choose to simply maintain a private file in written form if my doctor and I so choose.

Why is it that abortion and gay sex are the only two things that government should have nothing to say about? How about we get the government out of the bedroom, out of the kitchen, out of the pantry, out of my garden, out of my garage, out of my yard, out of other countries, out of my lawyer's office, out of my doctor's office, out of my bankers files, out of my phone, out of my internet, and out of my business files?

Roe versus Wade did not in any way shape or form address the actual action of abortion it simply held that you cannot constitutionally find out about such an occurrence in order to press charges because that would involve invading the privacy and the privilege of the doctor-patient relationship. Obama Care has repealed that privacy completely. Therefore it Roe versus Wade is moot.

All of those things are there because the government exists to promote the general welfare via regulations that ensure the health and safety of the population. Food quality laws, pollution laws, health regulations, and so on are generic regulations that are designed to enhance the welfare of the people.

Government control of reproduction is not good for society because it does nothing for society as a whole. Instead it focuses on the female individual and changes her from a citizen with Rights to a thing to be used as the government decrees with each new piece of legislation signed and passed into law.
