Well...we've been hit with a bunch of ice this morning so I'm going nowhere. I lost interest in writing that story last week....maybe I'll get inspired today. How about you?RedHairedandFriendly said:Thanks.I know you liked it.

What are your plans today?
With #2 kid being sick, church is no longer an option. It is snowing now and I may write, we'll see. I do have laundry to do and a football game to watch. lolWyldBreeze said:Well...we've been hit with a bunch of ice this morning so I'm going nowhere. Yeah....I'll be watching the game, too.RedHairedandFriendly said:With #2 kid being sick, church is no longer an option. It is snowing now and I may write, we'll see. I do have laundry to do and a football game to watch. lol
We'll see about the writing. Not feeling it yet. lolYeah, same here. Now. . . which one are you watching? Colts/Patriots or Bears/Saints <<<< or is it. . . Colts/Saints Bears/Patriots? <<< I get that ending team mixed up. lol.WyldBreeze said:Yeah....I'll be watching the game, too. We'll see about the writing. Not feeling it yet. lol

I confess I'll watch both. lol. . .I like sports, but I have to watch them from beginning to end; I can not enjoy them if I have to sit down after they have already gotten into the first quarter, half, inning, or whatever it is by what sport I am watching.WyldBreeze said:I will be watching both....huge football fan.![]()
The sports I do watch, I can pick up from any point in the match-up. Hockey, NASCAR, and any level of football are my favs.RedHairedandFriendly said:I confess I'll watch both. lol. . .I like sports, but I have to watch them from beginning to end; I can not enjoy them if I have to sit down after they have already gotten into the first quarter, half, inning, or whatever it is by what sport I am watching.
I like NASCAR, football, and basketball. I've not watched a lot of Hockey and I can even watch golf if it is Tiger Woods. lol. . . and the weather is nice. Dismal gray and golf just don't belong together. Tennis . . .eh.WyldBreeze said:The sports I do watch, I can pick up from any point in the match-up. I like to play tennis.....granted its not pretty....but I can hold my own. Love volleyball and street hockey, too.RedHairedandFriendly said:I like NASCAR, football, and basketball. Swimming or anything in the water is by far my favorite exercise, though.Ohhh I do love swimming. I want to get back to the Y. We helped my sister financially this past month, so our plans to rejoin the Y were stalled. She now found a job and starts next week, so hopefully we can work the Y back into the budget.WyldBreeze said:I like to play tennis.....granted its not pretty....but I can hold my own. I am actually looking forward to slipping into my bathing suit, just to see the difference. Yeah...it wil be a great change.RedHairedandFriendly said:Ohhh I do love swimming. Good luck with the finances....I'm not there yet. lolIt has been a tough road. We borrowed from his 401K, got debt free, then got slammed with the cost of having the cyst removed back in Sept. took out a 1600.00 loan to cover that so we didn't have the medical bills from different docs all over us.WyldBreeze said:Yeah...it wil be a great change.Good luck with the finances....I'm not there yet. lol

Are you serious? I had no idea about the redhead/anesthesia thing....do tell.RedHairedandFriendly said:It has been a tough road. Then we thought okay, we'll start saving some back for some land we are looking at, then sis lost her job. There is a light there at the end of the tunnel, it just keeps trying to close the tunnel door and we keep prying that puppy back open. lol.
So far the most we've had to pay for the GBS is $150.00 for the pshyc. eval., and 2 - $20.00 copays, 1 - 30.00 copay. (I am waiting to see how much the anastegeologist (spelling) will want. The insurance company refused to pay all they were asking, because they claim it was too much. Being a redhead I take more anestetic (spelling) than most folks... but you probably figured that, you being my twin and all.)

Glad y'all are getting things together for that land....now, if it were just closer to here.![]()
wikepedia said:Researchers have found that redheads require greater amounts of anesthesia, but other research shows that women with naturally red hair require less of the painkiller pentazocine than do either women of other hair colors or men of any hair color. A study conducted by Jeffrey Mogil and colleagues showed red-headed women had a greater analgesic response to that particular pain medication than men.[17] A follow-up study by the same group showed that redheaded men and women (and mutant "redhead" mice) had a greater analgesic response to morphine-6-glucuronide.[14]
I did not know that.....lol Thanks! Might be a handy piece of information to have in the near future. The painkiller thing makes sense to me, though.RedHairedandFriendly said:I learned early that I needed more than others. It seems the doctor performing my c-section talked about me having a cyst on my ovary, which they removed during the c-section.
She came into my recovery room and said... "Oh we removed a cyst from your ovary."
I said, "I know. I heard you mention it."
Her eyes grew wide and her mouth dropped. This was the first time she had seen me since I came out of surgery. So she believes I started to wake up enough that I heard the conversation. Which I guess I did, because I proceeded to tell her how she said it was the size of a softball.
If you google: Redhead Anesthesia
You'll find a ton of sites. Wikepedia even has info on it:
We need about 20% more than others. My second child is a redhead and she required more anesthesia when she was just having a biopsy done on the skin near her belly button. The sample was only the size of a pencil top eraser, but she had to have two shots of the anesthesia to become numb.

She's tiny too, not only thin, but I don't think she's even close to 5 foot. lolI just read one of the articles....its amazing how much it explains that I didn't even know needed explaining until you mentioned it five minutes ago. lolRedHairedandFriendly said:It may come in handy.I don't believe my Ob-gyn was real thrilled to have me remember what she was saying in surgery. lol. She's a great doctor though. She delivered my third baby and has been my ob-gyn for 12 years.

That's a bit depressing....good thing I plan on being here in 2060....I'll be worth something if we're almost extinct.RedHairedandFriendly said:Yep. This article says 2100, but I know I read one that said 2060.
