Supertramp

They're on my list already. I love them.

And performing any crime with you is a plus.

Then your wife seems to think you're part of the furniture
Oh, it's peculiar
She used to be so nice...

I'm by no means a conoisseur of the group, but I've always liked "The Logical Song". It's put together very well musically and always has something interesting in it for me to hear.

Dreamer

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do

Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do.

Well work it out someday

If I could see something
You can see anything you want boy
If I could be someone-
You can be anyone, celebrate boy.
If I could do something-
Well you can do something,
If I could do anything-
Well can you do something out of this world?

Take a dream on a Sunday
Take a life, take a holiday
Take a lie, take a dreamer
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along...

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
OH NO!

I have an amusing "brush with supertramp" story circa 1976 if you'd like to hear it sometime, Roobs.

LC

I have them on CD. Listened to them in the last month. Kind of like show tune rock. They have a lot in common with groups like Queen and Meatloaf. Sort of a non-acidy Pink Floyd or Queensreich...

I can see you in the morning on your way to school,
Don't forget your books, Don't you know you gotta learn the golden rule
Teacher's tell you stop your playing get on with your work
Be like Johnny Do Good, You know he never shirks

We're comin' along.

Oh yeah
Alright
Here we go again...

Give a little bit, give a little bit of your love to me

I'll give a little bit, I'll give a little bit of my love to you.

Thanks Ruby, playing this is making me smile :)

I saw them in concert about six years ago.

They did all the old standards which was very cool.

But, JMJ, their new stuff was more jazz than anything else and quiet nicely done.

"When I was young
it seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle......."

How true is that? :D

"Some Things Never Change" is a great album, not party music just mellow retrospective lyrics and sound with nice use of horns and percussion.

They're a fun group, huh guys?

Thanks for all the lyrics.

Bring on your story, Lance. I wanna hear. Anybody else?

Supertramp has about as much in common with Meatloaf as Willie Nelson has with Cecilia Bartoli.

Right, right, you're bloody well right
You gotta bloody right to say
Yeah, yeah you're bloody well right.....
know you gotta right to say

Write your problems down in detail
Take them to a higher plain.
You've your cry, no, I should say wail
In the meantime hush your face!

Pour some shook up Ramen
In the name of love...
Pour some shook up Ramen!

So you think you're a Romeo
playing a part in a picture-show
Take the long way home

Hide in your shell cos the world is out to bleed you for a ride
What will you gain making your life a little longer?
Heaven or Hell, was the journey cold that gave your eyes of steel?
Shelter behind painting your mind and playing joker

I couldn't take it any longer
Lawd I was crazy when the feeling came over me like a tidal wave
Started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave that I would love you to the end of time...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOWWWWWWWWWWWW Ah'm Prayin' for the end of time so I can end my time with you...

See, it's like off-Broadway vs. Broadway...

Campy versus showy!

:D
