The destruction of Krypton’s star was imminent. Jor-El and Lara constructed a ship and sent their only son to Earth. The timeline of the destruction of the solar system could only be estimated and once Kal-El’s ship was launched they started construction of a second ship for Lara, with the hope that it would be completed in time. It was. Due to Lara’s ship launching later and time dilation from the changing gravitational forces of Krypton’s sun ripping itself apart, upon Lara’s arrival to Earth she finds her fully grown son there to meet her. Clark doesn’t speak Kryptonian but he takes his mother to the Fortress of Solitude hoping the technology there will be helpful. Kryptonians are an advanced race and maybe due to this they have a centrist vision of the world, believing themselves to be the only civilized and worthy people in the universe. With access to the Fortress of Solitude it doesn’t take Lara long to learn the primitive human language and communicate with Kal-El.
When he meets Lara Superman might understand that she’s his mother, but she didn’t raise him. And another part of him also recognizes her as the only female capable of sex with him. Up until now he had thought sex with a woman would forever be out of his reach and that aspect would be missing from his life.
Kryptonian’s have a very sterilized society. Reproduction is achieved through use of a Genesis Chamber with genetical material donated from the parents, they don’t have sex. No sex on Krypton=no incest taboo. For Lara, she can’t understand Kal-El’s desire for sex, but if it makes him happy so be it. It doesn’t mean much to her, but it seems to mean the world to him being brought up as a human.
From believing he was going to be a virgin all his life to having a woman readily willing and able to sex with him would blow Kal-El's mind. If he didn’t have an incest kink before he certainly has one now, mother or not, he was going to spend the foreseeable future using her to satisfy his needs.
For Lara she doesn’t understand this whole sex thing; it was all very confusing. If the meshing together of sexual organs fulfills desire, then how did Kal-El’s thrusting his tongue into her mouth contribute to that? Maybe after a few rounds Lara feels something building within her, let she lets out a long moan/scream “I don’t understand what is happening right now” as her eyes roll back into her head and she has the only/hardest orgasm of her life. Spurred on, Superman is now going to pound his mom into oblivion just like Doomsday, but in a very different way.
