C’mon, THE STONES!

The Stones tanked their Superbowl XL show back in 2006. They wanted to introduce "Rough Justice" and nobody cared. You can see Mick Jagger visibily pissed off that people were heading to the concession stands. Superbowl audience are not the Stones core demographic, and they definitely seemed out of their comfort zone.

Interesting fact I just found out after googling the halftime shows, Up With People and the Grambling State Marching Band have the most appearances at 5 and 6 respectively.

Perhaps this year they can do an old school night and bring them back.

Interesting fact I just found out after googling the halftime shows, Up With People and the Grambling State Marching Band have the most appearances at 5 and 6 respectively.

Perhaps this year they can do an old school night and bring them back.

I remember not knowing who "Up With People" were in the 1970s, then the Nixon White House tapes were released and Nixon was ruminating to friends about how he thought the Super Bowl was one of the greatest ideas of the modern era, but he hated "fucking Up with People" at halftime.

In a gentler, more innocent age, people were aghast at Presidents dropping f-bombs.
