I have heard about this movie "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and how much it would suck to dump a girl and find out that she's a superheroine out for revenge. That makes me wonder what would occur if a woman dumped hubby or beau and then found that out about him.....any thoughts?

To be honest, the idea for that movie always struck me as a bit flawed: you don't become a Superhero if you're the kind to do that sort of thing.

(EDIT: I've never seen the film, but I've read reviews: apparently, he finds out BEFORE he dumps her. At first he's thrilled at fucking a superheroine, but then her personality starts to grate on him or he gets intimidated, I'm not sure.)

A superVILLAIN, on the other hand...

Actually, that's a pretty good idea all by it's lonesome: woman picks up with a guy who seems to be Mr. Right...until she realizes he's a costumed felon or masked conqueror. Would that knowledge change her feelings about him? Maybe he's actually in love with her, and romance takes him over to the side of good? Or perhaps she becomes his evil sidekick?

Sorry for the threadjack, but I think this is worthy of discussion.

nothung immediately comes to mind, but I like the concept enough to bump the thread.

Maybe he's basically good, but has a vindictive streak?

How about the flawed hero - the public persona is the all good superhero, but privately (sexually) he's needy and possessive?

Actually, that is basically the story of My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Oh, needy, possesive and jealous!

I think the story idea works better with a super-hero as the stalker, because then he has to show some constraint. A super-villain would just take whatever he wants.

What if he's a supervillian who thinks he's the hero of the piece? ie: He wants to conquer the world... in order to bring world peace, or something like that. So he likes this girl, she wants nothing to do with him, and he wants to woo her and convince her, but it just doesn't occur to him to do the kidnapping thing because he doesn't see himself as a villian?

Alternatively, he's seriously in love (it happens. Hell, even Darkseid was in love once!) and can't bring himself to hurt her.

Or it could be he's taking the Hynmeth(sp?) the Possessed approach: he could take her by force or MAKE her love him...but where's the challenge in that?
