Who do you think has what it takes to win the day...?

I of course am a Steelers fan.... anyone think the bump would be upset if I painted her house Black and Gold for game day? :D

I have a soft spot for Kurt Warner, as well as for the most hapless franchise in NFL history (I am a Cubs fan, after all). So I'm rooting for Arizona.

I think the Cards' luck will run out, and the Steelers will win, though.

I think the Steelers are going to win... and I think that Mike Tomlin is going to be DA MAN when it's over

Yeah, I know the Steelers are favored, but...

I have it from a good source...

A couple of friends of mine who are presently in the Witness Protection Program, I mean vacationing in Arizona know for a fact that...

Well, if you have some extra dough, I'd put it on Arizona to win by 10 points. Now, don't go spreading this around 'cause I don't want the odds goin' up, but you can thank me later for the tip.

it's not really football ;) but I'll stay up to watch anyways.

Who's going to bribe me NOT to support their chosen team?

I've watched part or all of 3 superbowls, each time I've picked the losers to support!

I too, am glad to see the old guy getting a second chance.

Here in Arizona there was a big bruhaha when the team moved to Phoenix and called themselves the Phoenix Cardinals instead of the Arizona Cardinals. However, their dismal record vindicated the choice, since every Arizonan who doesn't live in Phoenix hates the place. The cardinal name was also questioned, since I don't think we have cardinals in the southwest. Whatever. They have redeemed themselves, although I don't think they'll win.

The most humiliating part about a loss to the Steelers would be the fact that the winning team looks like they just came from a Halloween party. (Orange and black.)

I've always thought the ideal halftime show would be a catfight between the two cheerleading teams, but I'm funny that way.

If more Americans knew about Rugby, the NFL would go bankrupt.

I know all about rugby - dated a rugby player in college. :D

eta: I quit paying much attention to pro ball after the Rams moved to St. Louis. Just ruined it for me. :(

I'm rooting for Arizona also. Go Cards!!

Yeah you do. I grew up in Tucson...we saw cardinals there every so often. They aren't nearly as prevalent there as they are here in the Midwest but they're definitely out there.

Re: Your comment about every Arizonan living outside of Phoenix hating the place, I wouldn't say that. I knew a lot of people who would rather have lived in Phoenix than Tucson or wherever else they lived. Admittedly I'm one of the ones that couldn't stand it...lived there for a year and still couldn't stand it, and there are many of us, but yeah.

I would assume you're referring to the Lions. :D Well, I look at it this way, the only way they could be worse is if they repeated their 0-16 season.

If you're not, well, I'll be quiet now. I don't follow football much unless it's the hometown teams. But heck, I'll toss in my vote for AZ.

The Lions actually have won an NFL championship in the past 60 years. They were the team of the 1950s. However, if the Cards manage to win on Sunday, I think the Lions will take up the "most hapless" mantle from the Cards.

I only became a Panthers fan since I moved here. Have rooted for the Steelers since they got Gerela as a kicker in the early 70s :D
There never were that many NMSU Alums in the NFL
At that time it was Gerela and Charley Johnson QB of the Cardinals 61 - 71 and then Broncos 72 - 73. :D

Even up until they beat Philly I never believed the Cards had any business in the playoffs. Now, I wouldn't bet against them... if I were a betting man. I'd like to see Edgerrin James get a second ring. He has one from when the Colts won the Superbowl the year after he left. Now he can get one of he got to play for. Still don't like Kurt Warner, though.

Exactly!!

Much more interesting game to watch. Noone wears all that silly 'protection gear' (woozers), - you'll see the occasional teeth guard, very few shoulder pads, and the occasional very small head guard, like old fashioned cycling helmets......none of these huge, heavy, motorcycling helmets.

And it doesn't take anything like the ridiculous amount of time to play.

Personally, I don't class american football as a sport (and definitely not football), it's more a huge entertainment . I just can't take it seriously.

(In case you hadn't worked it out, a Brit speaking).
:):):):):)

I go with Arizona. I like their spectacular high flying offense.

Go, Warner, Boldin, Fitzgerald!
