"I hate the cold." I rubbed my hands together. A hard cold lump dug into my flesh. In my glove I held a small ivory key. I cracked my whip to speed the dogs. I would of preferred a snow plane or maybe a snowmobile, but unfortunately machines were forbidden at the gate.
"I hate the cold." I pulled the sled to a stop. I was now at the northernmost gate, an ancient marble tower. A white tower that stood amongst an eternal field of white and green. I looked at the pine trees and hoped firewood would be inside. I pushed the ancient oak doors open and entered the great hall. I might be here for a while, perhaps I should bring in the dogs. This might be holy ground but practicality has its place too, and frozen dogs were far from particle.
I untied the dogs and stepped inside. I had known I was going to train a team of summoners from this site for almost a month, it was a great honor and something I couldn't refuse. "I hate the cold."
A set of stairs led down, and another led up. In between the top and bottom stairs was a Gothic archway, and beyond the storage place for traveling animals. I took my dogs inside. A great commotion arose as the other beasts barked and neighed in surprise of a new guest.
A monk approached me while I tied off my dogs to a post. 'You are the last to arrive, please hurry. I'll have some of my brothers help place your bags in your room.'
"Yes, I suppose the other two trainers are excited to begin." I traveled back out and down a flight of stairs. The monk ran the opposite way, shortly there after I heard a bell sound three times. The stairs seemed to keep going further and further down. After a while I came into a storage room and decided to stop and wait for the others.
A short while later a woman with short blue hair, and a large bald man came fallowed by a large group of monks. Maybe a dozen in all, I didn't bother to count. I smiled and waved, and the bald man waved back. The small woman however looked upset. A pity she had a nice figure but was already mad at me.
Our small group made our way down four flights of stairs and three rooms. Then we stood at an iron gate at their base. At least it was warm down here.
The large man placed a gold key into the center lock, a soft click was heard and in the back of the next room a yellow light appeared. The woman was next and drew a silver chain out of her cleavage. At its base was a key of Sapphire. She placed the key in the top lock and with another soft click a blue light appeared to the right side of the room. I pulled the ivory key out of my glove and stuck it into the bottom lock and turned the lock slowly. The lock was stiff, perhaps with age but it eventually turned with a soft click. The gate swung open and a white light appeared in the left of the room.
I entered fallowed by the other two and then the monks. At the center of the room was an unlit pool of oil. A monk lit the oil with flint and still. This room housed four entrances but only one exit. The stairs on the wall to my back was both entrance and exit, but at the center of each of the other walls was an arch that led to a nook. Each nook had a different different color of light swirling endlessly in a compact orb.
I would train all hero's who came from the white gate. When they get here was any ones guess. I pulled out a simple wooden flute, and began to play. Soft scented smoke filled the air as the large central torch burned.
