Summer, Oh Summer, Where for art thou?

January in New Zealand it's supposed to be SUMMER. Last year we baked in temperatures of 25-30+ (celcius) each and everyday. This year so far, 6 thunderstorms in 10 days, floods, bridges washed out, rain, grey cloudy skies and did I mention rain. The heaviest rain in 50 years (Akaroa 13/01/2002). What has gone wrong here. Why has the summer not arrived. This time last year we faced one of the worst droughts in recorded history. This year the sunniest town in NZ (Blenhiem) recorded half the sunlight hours of last year and double the rain. Are other places (both in NZ and abroad) facing this?

Winter, oh winter......Where art thou.

No, It is just the opposite. It used to snow where I live in the wintertime. Now it snows less and less. I miss the snow(but just a little bit).

Here we go again!

Scientists are reporting that El Nino is reforming in the Pacific Ocean. Seems like we just got over his last visit.

Here I am!

Oh, you meant the other kind of Summer.:D

What's up Sugar Daddy?:)

Someone calling my name?

Okay, just a FYI, 'where for' = 'why?'.
Your thread title is saying, "Summer, oh summer, why are you?"

I hate to get technical and Shakepearean on you....

Thank you, Never, for clearing that up. It's a pet peeve of mine....

But the word is actually "wherefore" - one word. When Juliet says "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" most people don't think of her next line, which is "Deny thy father, and refuse thy name...." What she's saying is Why are you Romeo....why are you a Montague? - because of that whole Capulet/Montague feud....

Just my 2/5 ths of a nickel....

Don't worry about it sweets!

I would be doing better if I could sleep. I have to be at work at 6am.:(

So, when are you going to open up the new club?

Ahem...I hate this place at times. Its full of self-righteous a-holes who think they know everything. I make one little mistake in a thread title and next minute the Grammer Police are out in force with riot shields and batons at the ready. What is it with some people? So what if I've only got a high-scholl education. Lets see them recover an email server from a system crash. I may not "talk properly" at times. Isn't that my perogative to use slang? The thread title sounded good to me. And I'm the only one who matters, along with the select few here I call friends. To the rest of them. F**K the Hell OFF.

Mensa...pal. I hope this one was true. If not that was really lame dude, and I don't think I could handle seeing you fall to that side. :(

...whistling nonchalantly, covering all spelling errors, as not to alarm any Grammar-Nazi's.

tip-toes back into the shadows like the cool SuperSecretDoubleBad-assedNinjaAgent that he is...

Thanks Foxy-one. I'm gonna need a few of them to give me the dutch courage I'll need to man the barricades. Did you notice this is now a shakespearian thread, no longer a moan about the weather...?
