Suggestions, Please

I work for a GM car dealership and at the dealership we sell chevy, buick, oldsmobile, cadillac, and pontiacs. In the chevy category I think the Impala is the nicest looking car they have right now. And it's pretty economical depending on the "extras" you might want. Buick released their new Bonneville and wow it is pretty!! Kinda pricey but very professional looking. Oldsmobiles arent in production anymore so I wont suggest a vehicle that is new from them but they do have a car named Alero that are pretty nice and also economical. Pontiac makes a damn nice looking Grand Prix. They are sporty and sleek looking and not bad price at all. If I was going to buy outside of these categories I would buy a Kia...the warranty is excellent on these vehicles! They have an suv that is cute and practical.

Hope this helps out some...I work in the warranty section of the dealership and can help ya out more if ya need it. Just give me a holler :)

The Chevy Celebrities are reliable- I had one for 7 years & traded it in w/ the original clutch & 150,000 miles on it...

I now have a Jetta & I would definitely recommend it- its 2 yrs old and it still runs like it's brand new! It can handle, has balls, and rides wonderfully! And, for $250 extra, you can get the 6 CD changer- that alone sold me on it...

No comments on what you should buy, everyone's opinion is different, mine's no more important than anyone else's. That being said, once you decide on a model, ask around and find someone who's got one and talk to them about it.

I agree with whoever said the Impala is the best looking Chevy right now (I'm too lazy to look back and see who that was). My parents bought one last year and they love it. However, they have had some minor problems that were linkage related in the steering or something. Nothing major but their dealer said many people have had it and no one's figured out how to fix it properly yet.

Also, consider buying a used vehicle. It's amazing how much cheaper a year old car can be compared to new. You can avoid "eating" the depreciation for driving a new car off the lot by finding one with very low miles.

Luckily when I bought my Jeep last spring, I have a friend who owns a used car lot and he found me a 3 year old with 35,000 miles that looked like it was fresh off the assembly line. Gave me a great deal too.

Buy a real car.

Buy an old one that has real metal and you can do up so it wont collapse the fist time you hit 100 mph.

Did she tell you what happened?

The story of lavy's wreck will be one we'll be able to torture her about for years. :D

My prediction - she'll go with a Jetta. Fits all her criteria, is well recommended, and looks great.

I've brought it up every time she mentioned my less than stellar driving habits.

She'll get a Jetta.. unless she's suddenly seized again by the need for a light silver 2000 BMW.
