Suggestins needed from College aged females!

ok, HELP! lol

I have an 18 year old daughter in her 1st year at college half-way across the country. I need some ideas for XMas gifts.

She has her own apartment and car. Both are pretty well taken care of as far as "necessities". (i.e. furniture, applicances, etc..)

She does work and I already pay for her school, books and rent.

She is a "girly-girl". lol She's big time into shopping so gift certificates are a definite.

Any ideas on what else might be appreciated? Types of gift certificates? What's hot in music for the 18 something set? Movies?

A gift certificate for a music store would likely be best, i would dare pick a certian band or person, cause it seems to change daily of what is hip and what is in.

Clothing gift certificate, she's still likely in that age crave group, again certificate better than an actually item.

That's one way to get a funeral cheap.


Many malls will allow you to order gift certificates online or by phone, eliminating the need to pick a specific store.



edited to add - phone cards aren't bad either.

A gift certificate to the spa is always a good idea.

Other than that, I'd stick with clothes.

Or... if you wanted something you picked out, a nice suede jacket with soft lining? Pea coats are wonderful.
