Made my 100th post in 7days/21 hours. I think I have an addiction.

What impression do you have of me at this point?
What would or wouldn't make a characteristic avatar?
Is it just too soon?

I just went to google.com and did an image search for "patient" and those were just two of the hundreds that turned up. A quick resize down to avatar size and voila.

I did find a picture titled "Patient 1.jpg" but it was a really gross picture of a smallpox patient.

These are NOT how I see you, just a play on your username.

No one can suggest an av for you that will really fit unless you only want something that mirrors your nick and *that's* shallow stuff, don't you think? You don't seem to me to be one who is satisfied with simply a reflective surface. Somehow, you seem to be composed of deeper parts, more substance, more reality.

Choose an av that reflects who you are here, with us.
Choose an av that tells us a little more about you.

The intrinsic reward for getting to 100 posts is this ability to be graphical about who you are.

You can change it as often as you please, too, you know.

I have enough trouble picking av's for myself. I wouldn't dream of foisting my infamously unreliable av-picking abilities onto someone else.

Except... well... I can help you narrow the choices - and then look for you, if you like.

Do you want this av to be humorous or some kinda mood?
A cartoon or animated figure?
A photograph? In color or b&w?
A man? A woman and a man? Doing what?
If unclothed: how far?
What should the mood of the photo be?
Something from nature, perhaps? Animals, vegetable, or mineral?
Maybe an atmospheric phenomena? Maybe a celestial one...?

One needs to narrow the choices down a bit, my friend, if one wants help with av-picking.

Patient1....First off congrats on the 100 posts. I for one used the stupid thread "somthing new" to boost mine over 100. Sorry but I just didn't have enough good stuff to say to get me over 100. Probably never will enlighten. However that being said....Your Av should be reflective of you I spose. Change it as you change.

They are a fun thing to use and if you choose one like I did, you can be sure you will be taken serious.

You were the catalyst I needed. I figured out what I wanted as a result of this advice. The trouble is that it's been copyrighted since I last looked at it. Back to the drawing board.

And there are progs that will lift the copyright off the pic, too. (See WH, for instance, or Outsider, or any of a multitude of others here who are skilled at this kinda erasing-copyrights-off-the-av thing.)
