Sugaring vs. Waxing

Has anyone had both done or does anyone have a preference based on comparison?

There are two places nearby that will do a Brazilian and one use sugar and one uses wax. I was looking for a waxing salon and thought I would go that route, but when I saw the sugaring option I was intrigued. The sugar place makes a very strong argument, but is it all just advertising or their sales pitch?

I will eventually talk with both places before making my decision, but it might be helpful to hear from experience and know what questions to ask, rather than just listen to each places general sales pitch.

I've done both, though I go the homemade sugaring route.

On a "ripping hair out by the roots fuckin' hurts" level they're about the same, but sugaring tends to be better on my skin.

I have *very* sensitive skin and the chemicals in most commercial waxes tends to irritate it. Sugaring (with the sugar and lemon juice mixture I use) does not.

Thanks for the input. I have very sensitive skin also, and I think the literature for this salon mentioned sugar and lemon juice so it sounds similar and like it might be better. If that is the only significant difference, I suspect natural products would generally be better than commercial wax. Although the sugaring place looks a little more $$$.

Now, about that pain...I hope I can tolerate it. I am sure I can handle the top parts but the rest kind of scares me.

Honestly, in the long run it's worth it (at least for me).

It hurts *when* it's being ripped, then goes away.

Something like razor burn stays irritated for days.

Good luck with it :)

Do you have the mixture recipe and a description of how you use it? I'm assuming the actual procedure is the same as waxing, but how do you heat it up and such?

I don't mind some of the waxes, but it would be nice to have something that's more gentle on my skin and doesn't need to be removed w/ oil.

I've had both, both by a salon and by myself and I still prefer waxing. However, I only wax my legs at home (using pre-waxed strips), for my Brazilian I go to an aesthetician. She uses a wax that is honey based, is gentle on the skin, feels great, lasts forever and is not screamingly painful (mind you, I have a very high pain tolerance).

It depends on the person and on the ability of aesthetician. I would suggest you try both and decide from there.

Good luck

They both seem reputable so I guess I'll just have to pick one to try first. Thanks for your input.

I will, but it will be a little while. I have just started looking into it. I will do all my research while it grows out to the necessary length, so I am looking at at least a few weeks.

Sugering

I would love to go down on my wife after she had a good sugaring :D

Actually love to go down on the wife without the sugaring.
