Suffering from Addiction

As a person in recovery, I appreciate you making that statement. But, the diminishment of the concept of addiction is a fait accompli, and I can't begrudge people people using it in what has become standard usage.

Going back to another thread where we discussed exaggeration, I liken it to just that, exaggeration.

Is saying "I'm starving to death," when our pizza is late offensive just because there are actually people in the world right now literally starving to death?

I certainly don't see it that way.

And if some of those starving people were right there when you said it?
