Sudoku vs. Rum

Forget the puzzle. You should listen to some Zeppelin. Or some Tal Wilkenfeld - she's awesome.

I simply don't get the joy of Sudoku but HM is an addict. I figure she can have the puzzles and I'll take the rum.:D

the only math I ever understood was useful. I hated algebra but got some satisfaction out of geometry. The only parts of trig I got dealt with navigation and surveying. I probably wouldn't have done well in musical theory, either. Ah's a pure performer-type.

Now music history, I enjoyed!

Laughing -

I detested music history. Pretty pathetic for a music major, yes?

I could handle the listening examples, when the professor would start the CD in the middle of a piece and we had to identify - symphony, key, place in the work, composer, etc. - that was a piece of cake.

But the dates? Jesus.

I would get my test paper, and I would write down my memorized list of 40 composers and their dates - then I could refer to those when I answered the more important questions.

I still couldn't tell you Bach's specific dates.

It's enough to know that he's been dead 300 years, yes?

And how many kids he fathered. Music and sex go together even better than music and math. :D

What's the deal?

The more rum I imbibe, the more difficult the puzzle solving becomes.

Go figure.

Ah, you're obviously on the downward curve of your "beer effect"

The "beer effect" is the well established phenomenon that with most activities (especially physical) we actually get *better* as we drink our first beer. It loosens us up, makes us move with more fluidity and not think too hard. This especially applies to ping pong, bowling, darts, pool, and videogames.

However, somewhere after beer number 2, this effect plateaus and a decline begins. Quickly enough, you're worse than you are sober!

And a single beer (or two over a longer time period) improves the quality of psychotherapy, as well. Of course, grandma with her milk and cookies is still better than a Ph.D.

I know of that effect!

It's also when guys think they are amazingly attractive and try to pick up girls!

;)

(It didn't help my sudoku, though.)

I'm not amazingly attractive, but you are.

I love sudoku, but haven't in so long. Better avoid it though if I want to get anything done.

I love rum too, but I'm out. Have to settle for whiskey and beer. It's corona season. Want a squeeze of my lime?
