Such a Small Thing...

Some find it an endless quest,
searching all their lives,
never to find it.

Others toss it out like penny candy,
as if in a small town parade.

A lucky few, find it almost immediately,
like the child born with the silver spoon.

Some find it after years of exhausting search,
and guard it like a rare and precious stone.

Still others can’t seem to do anything
but obsess over the ideas
it conjures up in the mind.

There are those who find it.
just as they are about to lose hope of it’s existence.

We seek it out,
this thing,
obsessively,
compulsively.

In our mind’s eye,
it is to most of us,
the longed for feast of the heart.

This small thing...

This significant thing...

This...

Love.

Very lovely emi. :)

Some take love for granted and only realize how much it means once they've lost it and it's too late.

Some spend their entire lives looking for it and end up missing love along the way because of preconcieved ideas.

Some hold it tenderly to themselves, treasuring what they have and always appreciating it.

There was a man who would be King.
Italian, and all the time saying Bada Bing!
At the risk of being labled a ding a ling
He collected string
His clothing always had static cling
His favorite season was spring
He had a girlfriend but she had a fling
He also made a mean hot wing
He was allergic to a bee sting
He had been to Peking
Considered a nose ring
Supported Martin Luther King
Had a great golf swing
And would always sing
One day a great woman will wear my ring...........
