National stories on all networks last night. Box seats allready going for $4500 each. Upper deck? Over a grand.

It will get worse. Be prepared.

Can't wait to see the expression on Rudy's pinstripe-lovin' face when he hands the Key to the City to Bobby V.

Bobby V? Isn't he that guy from North Dakota that filled in for Buddy Holly when he crashed.

He had some hits, did he move to New York City or something?

I wonder what cap Hillary will be wearing. Probably made out of carpet.

sorry....

i'm not a new york fan at all....i honestly think that the subway series will do worse, as far as ratings go, than they did last year. I will definitely be missing the series this year. I dont' see how anyone who isn't living in new york or a fan of new york, would want to watch it at all. I'll admit, they're both great teams.

Subway series during the season..cool
Subway series/World series...very uncool

just my opinion, didn't mean to step on any toes :)

No, don't think so Tim......

Ah, Mr. Henderson.......... follow this bouncing ball....

This will be the largest viewed Series in years, here's why..............

There are more NYC'rs out there than you can imagine - I mean all over the world too - they're fucking everywhere.

All the big TV sports guys are here - so they are all really enthused. They will promote it thusly.

All the network anchors and news producers work and live here - they're enthused and sending crews locally to get "cover footage" is inexpensive and very easy. They will promote this thing.

More celebrities will attend this Series than any other - the paparazzi will be out in droves. There will be non-NYC'rs watching nightly for cut-aways to the crowd just for this.

Not to mention - everyone here in the tri-state area will be watching like hawks - that's almost a quarter the US population.

It promises to be freaking huge - NYC haters/boycotter's - are actually in a vast minority.

St. Louis

All right, I'm from St. Louis. So forget that I don't hate the Mets. I do. Rock and roll guys, you kicked our ass. Odd thing being that you have never admitted when we kicked yours.

Here's a NY question. What is the only team in the history of national baseball to have a winning record against the Yankees?

St. Louis Cardinals.

Yep, we only played em (until recently) in the World Series and we whipped em more often than not. The Mets? Look it up, count the penants and World Series wins. Team second in both only to the Yankees? St. Louis Cardinals. Mets are slightly ahead of the Cubs.

And when we get our asses whipped we admit it. Congrats Mets! you did it, go for it!

Good post babe -

And "good posts" do be your thang. But know this - I ain't no New Yawka. Born in KC and brought up in DC - just live here now. Do love it though - big city, bright lights!

Okay -

I'm for the Mets, I'm always for the underdog, Yanks been there dont that, too much lately - but I can't discount experience, I think the Yanks will win, I would bet my hard earned cash that way.

Now - Indy - New Yorkers' - as you may know, I'm not really a New Yorker but becomming one fast. They say if you ain't been here 10 years, fugedaboudit.

So, my point of view. The general media, movies, TV, all of it - love to play up on the "harshness of New York and the people who call it home" - it's easy for them to do so too - after all, lot's of them live here too. They like to make New Yorker's as uncarring assholes, or over violent weirdos. Well, it's my oppinion that this is generally false. For sure you gotta be tough to live here - it can be very harsh. You gotta have some kind of little edge to survive here - it's not for everybody. On those details I could go on and on. But, the survivors, the ones who live here and survive it - there is a sence of comraderie - a sence of "making it here and being able to make it anywhere" AND - not everybody can also do that - or want to do that. Yep, definately a sence of toughness and weakness. And you know - again, not being a New Yorker - I would tend to agree. I can be fucking really harsh here man!

Okay, knowing that - this is a really compasionate place. People aren't as cold as reported. And I can tell ya from personal experience - blonde Southern boys get special treatment. I have not problems what so ever.

Now, I will tell you that if you're a type that likes cities (and not everyone does, I understand) you must come to NYC but don't come if you don't know anyone. It's intimidating as hell. My first 6 months here I was freakin' Come here and hand with someone that knows the city, is comfortable with the city - with NYC - and you will have one of the best times in your life.

You won't be able to help it - cause it's all here - and tons of it. You just need a guide, that's all.

Okay. I live in NY. I just don't understand this whole subway series thing. I mean, anyway you look at it, NY team will be champs. So, What's the big deal? Anyone care to clue me in. :)

I was wrong.....

numbers are way down over last year. Oh well. I still get a kick out of. Broken bat throwing and all. Hey Blondy, you from here? Or somewhere else?
