Recently I have experienced taking my sub to subspace. Each time I've done it his eyes get bloodshot. Is this normal? It happens even if he's not blindfolded. Maybe could it be from him clenching his eyes shut? I don't spend much time looking at his face. Anyone else experience this?

Not me. Has he checked his BP lately?

Someone mentioned blood pressure -- I think that'd be the first place to look if you are worried about health.

My dog's eyes get completely bloodshot when he has his nails trimmed at the vet; it's an extremely stressful situation for him, and nothing is coming in contact with his eyes. It might be similar.

I'm not sure. I'd suggest asking a doctor, but ... well I wanna be there when you explain to him how he got to subspace.

Is he holding his breath?

Yes, an amazing analogy ....

blood shot can mean that oxygen supply has dimished,

or that he was so bored he was reading the back of the blindfold while you worked.

See a doc, I'd think

Do his eyes get blood shot any other time...when you are NOT involved? Taking him to sub space would not seem to Me to be the cause in and of its self to cause this...but perhaps an "activity" you are doing is causing some stress that sets off a natural weakness caused by an underlying condition.

I will have a doctor in My class tonight and will be sure to ask about this problem for you. I feel certain he will be more interested in the activities than the sub space to find his answer though.

Generally when I play with a new submissive I ask about any medical problems they might have and about any medications they are on. From that information I can gauge the type of play that might not be appropriate.

he doesnt have any high blood preassure, he does have low though. Thankyou for offering to ask th dr in your class Shadowsdream, I await Your answer.

Stop taking the photos in such dark environments. [

Or it could be the blood pressure, sure.

If you would like I can ask my father the next time I see him or speak with him. He is a cardiologist, but from my exerience this is typically blood preasure dependant. Not saying you should hook him up to a EKG before any sessions (gosh that would add to the cost  )

I will try my best to get a answer for you, or try to point you and your sub in the correct direction.

I spoke with the Dr this evening...he assures Me that the breaking of blood vessels in the eyes is from some form of straining which RAISES the blood pressure. Not a sub space issue but possibly a play issue that he is tensing against. Low blood pressure is not the issue. He didn't seem to feel there was a reason for concern.

Blood Pressure fluctuates. He may have low blood pressure when he goes to the doctor for a check up. But, if you were to take his BP right in the middle of the scene that results in his red eyes, perhaps there'd be a huge spike. The same would be true for heart rate.

How do you find out for sure? That's a tough one, unless the dominant has a blood pressure kit or can borrow one to test it right at the moment. It might be interesting.

The next question -- is it dangerous? I don't know -- a doctor would probably be able to say (but how high is it going?) -- but I can assume that it would *not* be safe if the sub has a history of heart problems or other health issues -- anything that a sudden spike in BP might agitate.

I have confirmed this to be true, in addition anexiety and stress can cause the same symptoms. Glad you got a answer from a doctor. If I might suggest webMD.com is a great site for educational information, as to if one should be concerned or not. Not 100% but nohting ver is, but sometimes it's peice of mind to look at and compare symptoms.

Interesting. I've certainly never heard of this! Thanks to Shadowsdream for checking it out with an expert. I have always had extremely low blood pressure - very often if I stand up too quickly I get woozy and my vision tunnels down for a couple of seconds, and I have to stop before taking a step. I don't often enter subspace - I think I might have been there once - but I will have to pay more attention to blood vessels and things like that. I wonder if it would be easier for the doctor to withdraw blood if I'd been tied up and teased mercilessly immediately prior to the visit!
