You are supposed to message Laurel when that happens, but in my experience that doesn't always work.

I think differently.
Usually, @Laurel does not respond directly to similar complaints. However, from my own experience, after writing/publishing more than 280 stories/chapters, she (or another person on her behalf) takes care of the issue soon.

Yeah she doesn't ever respond, but the hope is that she at least reads them and checks if there is an issue.

I have a couple stories that have been stuck in pending for over 2 weeks now. I've politely messaged her, but so far nothing has changed.

Wait at least 2 weeks before resubmitting.
Sometimes (Mostly due to logistical reasons), it takes that long for the reviewer/administration to deal with a story.
I have another suggestion: If you write a series, DO NOT submit the chapters one day at a time. Send ALL the chapters together and politely ask the reviewer to publish the chapters one after the other, day after day. I did it before, and it worked.
