Hopefully someone will be able to help me out here. I was looking for some information on how to be a better submisive. I was reading something on a website where one submisive had "formaly" (she had gone to a school of some sort) learned which side to kneal for formal parties and things like that and I was just wondering if anyone knows of or has heard of a site that has some information like that.
Thanks for any help.

Hmmm...there are some "houses" in Europe that train people. For the most part, I would suggest doing a google search with your city name and bdsm in the search line and finding a local education or munch group to join. You can find someone within their members who would be more than happy to help you learn what you wish to learn.

You don't have your location listed, but if you're near the Raleigh area in NC in the US, you can click the link in my sig line. We have real time workshops and our more experienced members are more than happy to show or teach you anything you want to learn (several PYLs have learned how to flog during one of the parties they throw each month, which I think is a wonderful skill to pass along lol).

Not really a school for subs but more for maids with BDSM elements in it.

From the FAQ:
11. Will I be subject to corporal punishment? Miss Prim's personal maids were successfully trained with corporal punishment and it is a method that she herself highly recommends for instilling discipline. However, this form of punishment is not compulsory for maids and they can excused it by prior agreement at the interview. Strict discipline is maintained at The Academy and maids must expect to learn their lesson in other non-physical ways.

do to the american legal system it is very difficult for such a training institution to exist...As stated europe has a few houses that do this...good luck with the search and let us know if you find anything :rose:

I admit to a real fascination with this place. I found the link a few years ago, and every now and then I think about what it would be like.

indeed, very interesting link:D

The existence of European houses has never been confirmed to my satisfaction. People who claimed to be trained in such places have never been willing to show any evidence remotely that they exist, whereas in the rest of the Leather world I've been around there's no shame in saying who one's mentor, Daddy, or Daddy's Daddy is and was. If someone spills some significant checakble fact I will believe otherwise. This is an opinion widely shared on one of the Leather History groups I belong to online, where arguments and debates are often heated yet interesting. No one's come to any conclusive evidence of the nature of European "houses" beyond American Myth.

I think for education, the best bet is to go to some of the events you will find in most major metro areas. There is almost always a speaker or presenter dedicated to more formal ideas about D/s and more structured D/s relationships. Even then you will definitely hear that thing vary from relationship to relationship and how things are done depends on the wishes of the Dom/me. Style is pretty personal and contextual.

It took a long time before i fully understood myself regarding my submissive identity. Once i understood and was comfortable i did consider looking for a mentor but finally decided against it. It always made sense to me that once i found a Master, He'd be more than willing to teach me to be exactly the type of submissive HE desires. How would anyone else KNOW what it is that pleases HIM? Who could anyone else possibly know what type of submissive He requires?
i always knew i was submissive in relationships and just never knew it had a 'name' ... never knew that i identified with D/s .. BDSM etc. Once i understood, i read everything i could get my hands (mouse) on regarding the subject. i learned alot just in surfing BDSM and D/s web sites. i took what i could identify with from each.
i found my Master June 26, 2004. He has taught me everything i need to know. Sure, i did bring a few talents and basic understandings of D/s with me (basic respect, honorability, trustworthyness, massage techniques, licensed and experienced in haircutting, pedicures, manicures .... not to mention knowing how to please Him orally just by instinct alone ;) ).
i've been serving Him since the first day we met, and six months later, i live with Him in His home, am now collared, wear His ownership tattoo, and am engaged to be His wife. He has praised me over and over again in telling me that He is very proud to have me as His submissive and He's quite happy with me etc ect. my instincts were correct in knowing He would rather train me Himself. ;)

Every man, Dom, Master is different. i'm sure SOME may want a sub who is already 'trained'. Regardless, there is always 'tweaking' that must be taken care of, D/s relationships are not "one size fits all".

If there IS a site that will teach EVERYTHING there is for a submissive to learn i never found it. my favorite site has always been CastleRealm. Other than that the local Barnes & Noble bookstore (see the self help section for BDSM titles). Attending local munches, as well as local private members only BDSM clubs .... so as to interact with other submissives who are collared/owned and serving in REAL 24/7 D/s relationships (yes ... they DO exist)... is a GREAT way to learn.

BDSM aside, there are schools which teach butlery and white glove domestic service as well as house/estate management and personal assistantship.
