you can c&p italics if you put them into HTML first...

eg: if you want italics to be italicised.... then you need to put tags around the word <i>italicised</i>

you can also embolden <b> *****</b>

*blink blink* Sooo, they want you to submit it with no blank lines separating paragraphs, but still no indenting? I must be missing something here. I can't c&p because I have itals in the story.

Well, I'm going to send to an editor first, so maybe s/he will tell me if I did it wrong.

One blank line between paragraphs, yes. No indenting. I think, what gauche was trying to say was that you don't press 'Enter' when you come to the end of the line, but let it go to the next line by itself.

Really? Even if you save the story in plain text format?

I have no clue. I just know that .docs don't come with HTML. (possibly, as I don't know what HTML is. I know what it stands for, I don't know what it does. It may not even be called HTML. It might be called computery type thingummy for all I know, I just know cut'n'paste is generally quicker than uploading)

One other good thing about cut'n'paste is that you can preview your story before sending. Then you can see the italics, page breaks etc.

"Hard return" is that button on those newfangled electrical typing machines that replaces the lever extending out from the carrier that you reach up and operate when you want to roll the paper up so you can start typing the next line of print.

I've never had a strory rejected. I always c&p'd into the box because I was intimidated by "upload." Sounded like changing a ribbon or something - messy.

Can't say I remember the lever days. But I do remember printing out on photo-sensitive paper and laying out pages with exacto knives and hot wax. Do I get any cred for that?
