My story submission was rejected. My volunteer editor found no problems with grammer, spelling or continuity. Is there some way to find out the reason for the rejection?

Did you post this question to anybody in the "Author Hangout" forum or any of the story forums? I'm pretty close to sure that someone might be able to answer your question.

I would have no idea why a story would be rejected. Sorry I can't be more help.

On your submissions page, there is a link under "rejected" that goes to a form letter with the reason for rejection.

Did you story violate one of the three "instant rejection" restrictions -- underage sex (under 18), bestiality, or snuff?

If it's a rape story, it might have been deemed a "rapist fantasy" instead of a "rape fantasy."

Did you preview the story to make sure the formatting made the transition from your word processer to Lit's HTML format? A lot of stories get rejected because they look good in the word processer but turninto a single unbroken paragraph when lit's formatting script gets through with them.

That "rejected" link only states generic reasons. Check spelling, format, etc. & refers you to submission guidelines.

True, but it does narrow down the problem because it would tell you if you were rejected for content insteadof technical reasons.

I've also heard to check that paragraphs are not too long, and that dialog is separated/indented each time into new paragraph.
