I know something's been mentioned before about resubmitting a story due to impatience, and that just drags the submission process out longer. In my case they've become quite speedy, I can get a story rejected in less than six days
LOL ( wait...why is that funny??)
I digress, I resubmitted a story this morning and I should have this other mess finished by tomorrow or the next day, will submitting two different stories slow the whole thing down as well?

No, having two different stories submitted shouldn't change the speed that either is approved. They'll just be subject to the larger queue of all the stories submitted, and the time the editors have available to review them, I believe.

Having two different versions of the same story requires more "hands on" from the editors, reviewing both, and I'm sure that's what slows it down when that happens.

I've never noticed any change in the speed of approval having multiple stories ( as many as three I believe ) pending at the same time.

I too have dealt with issues over having to submit multiple versions of the same story. They always send it back to you pretty quick thankfully. They also tell you what you need to do to make it right- I really appreciate that. Don't get discouraged by rejection, folks. At least they read it, right? :)

It makes no difference.
Sunday submissions are seen to quite quickly. I don't think anyone looks at them over the weekend.
