Sub vs Dub

If you've ever had the joy of watching an especially cheesy English dub of a foreign film you'll know its not uncommon for character names to be changed in the dub but not the subtitled version that retains the original audio.

My question to the people of the forum is: Do you have a preference in fanfiction dub names or sub names?

Note: I asked my friends in class and then immediately remembered I go to an art institute so my data is contaminated with film snobs and hardcore weaboos which I'd imagine aren't representative of Literoticas readership.

I would guess that most people enough into a fandom to seek out fanfiction would prefer the subbed version, as closer to the original. At least for foreign media and English speakers. I'm not familiar though with films with bad dubbing - I use subtitles as I can't understand dubbed voices at all.
