I was thinking about this thing I was reading in Salon.com it was Jim De Rogatis reviewing that awful concert they gave for the police officers in New York. He pointed out that it was an awful concert and made some snide comments about the awful commoness of the whole event. Any way this wasn't too long after sept 11. and the backlash was large. There were four pages of angry letters that they poster. One of them got to me though it was a woman saying something along the lines of Mr. De Roagitis is a big city jerk who is shitting all over Middle America's values or something.
So I started wondering, because I'm from the T-dot I've encountered this Small city folk are better folk thing and I'm wondering if this doesn't sum it up. Small town folk claim all virtues come from them. Pisses me off
And yes I know that the writer in question was from Chicago(The mid west) and he was ripping into New Yorkers who are not small town country folk. Still.
