Several years ago a doctor told me that a study was being done to see if their was a link between the growth hormones that were being given to cattle, hogs and poultry plus used in our vegetables. The doctor said that she and her colleagues were seeing children as young as 8years old going through puberty. She said that the children were displaying all of the signs such as secondary hair growth and development of breasts in both boys and girls. Also she stated that she had a 11 year patient would had had a complete physical prior to starting school who came back six months later complaint of a lump in one of her breasts. Tests verified that a suspicious lump in the breast. The girl had a lumpectomy which was successful. One teen patient indicated that a 15 year friend of her sister had to have a complete mastectomy bilaterally. It is strongly suggested that any girl who shows signs of breast development should be taught how to do the self breast exam so that she can perform it once a month. Also the boys should be taught to check their testes for anything that doesn't not feel normal.
This is not meant to scare anyone but to help prevent something tragic from happening to someone you love.

A link between them and ... what?

Also, I was under the impression that the increase in early puberty in girls in the West was mostly linked to rising levels of obesity and physical inactivity.

There's lots of theories. One of which is also the hormones added to red meat to keep it looking red in the store.

And the estrogen in the dairy to keep the milk production up.

And it's really rare that any one theory is 100% the cause. When you get bombarded with bullshit, one type of bullshit is not a filter against all the other types. If you're obese and you're also drinking a giant glass of hormones, and you also have shitty medical care and can't get progesterone to balance it out... then all of that. All of those things are shit. It's not just one thing.

Just like my lungs are shitty because I smoke. My lungs are also shitty because I live in a mining town. Smoking does not cancel out the shittyness of the coal dust. It just makes it EXTRA shitty.

Even without added hormones like rbst, the cow itself produces enoguh fat and hormones in the milk to double a baby cow's weight in like 3 months. I'm not convinced that stuff is good for anybody! Lol.

But I agree, there are probably many factors.

Many factors indeed.

There are chemicals in many shampoos and other products that mimic the effects of estrogen being applied on a daily basis.
