I'm watching a recorded show from the Chippendales Tour in London, and it has given me tons of ideas about male strippers!

A girl picking up a stripper after the show... a girl dating a guy who's auditioning to be in the Chippendales' group... a girl who gets to dance with a stripper on stage and help him undress...

I should be getting more ideas once the commercials are over.:p

strippers called over for a bachelorette party, and then ending up the party favor of the women? ok, i'm overtired if that's the best I can come up with.

LOL and so I did, and I now cringe at my earlier post...

How to redeem myself?

I think an interesting twist on the stripper category would be a "gypsy" type story. You have a guy who wants to be a professional dancer but just isn't good enough to make it past regional companies, or past the second callbacks to the major companies. He thinks that perhaps he should go to college or perhaps start a dance school, but his parents (specifically his mom?) refuse to let him stop...after all they've been paying for dancing lessons since he was 4.

So he keeps pushing, and he adds yet another class to his schedule, perhaps a modern dance class. One of his classmates is a guy that he's seen on and off at auditions forever, but hasn't seen in about a year or so. Curious, he asks the guy (we'll call him mitch) where he's been. Mitch replies that he started stripping to pay rent when the spots weren't coming through for him. It pays better than being a waiter, right? Mitch suggests that our protagonist, Larry, give it a shot.

Larry declines, feeling it is beneath him to strip for money. He is a DANCER, and even if he's not good enough to be a well paid professional, he is not going to stoop to such a low.

Through some plot device which has not quite made it through my mind, his mother gets to talking with mitch (maybe they run into each other in the grocery store? no...cliches...well, we'll figure something out). Mom decides to go check the club where mitch works. It's a more upscale strip club, and she soon realizes that the women are tipping $20's and better. So she sets up an audition for Larry.

Larry doesn't want to go, but his mom is very forceful and he wants to please her. She also pulsl the "after all the money, the driving you to auditions, etc" guilt trip. So he goes.

There are plenty of places it could go from there....like i said...gypsy with a twist :)

better hugs?

Plot device: Larry's car breaks down so she ends up giving him a ride home from class. She also takes Mitch, who lives farther out than Larry does, and they end up talking in the car...

I like your idea, DN - in fact, one of the Chippendales dancers/strippers looked a bit like a Rom (gypsy).
