What was the lawyers name who helped Michael Valentine Smith? Can't recall at the moment and gave my copy away a while back. Must have bought half a dozen over the years and ended up giving them all away I guess.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it was Jubal Harshaw.

Jubal E. Harshaw, LL.B, M.D., Sc.D., bon vivant, gourmet, syabrite, popular author extraordinary, and neo-pessimist philosopher

Iron Maiden.

Stranger In A Strange Land
Smith

Was many years ago that I left home and came this way,
I was a young man full of hopes and dreams,
But now it seems to me that all is lost and nothing gained,
Sometimes things ain't what they seem,
No brave new world, no brave new world,
No brave new world, no brave new world.

Night and day I scan horizon, sea and sky,
My spirit wanders endlessly,
Until the day will dawn and friends from home discover why,
Hear me calling, rescue me,
Set me free, set me free,
Lost in this place and leave no trace.

Chorus:
Stranger in a strange land,
Land of ice and snow,
Trapped here in this prison, yeah!
Lost and far from home.

One hundred years have gone and men again they came that way,
To find the answer to the mystery,
They found his body lying where it fell on that day,
Preserved in time for all to see,
No brave new world, no brave new world,
Lost in this place, and leave no trace.

Chorus:
Stranger in a strange land,
Land of ice and snow,
Trapped here in this prison, yeah!
Lost and far from home.

I knew that, but you all beat me to it!

Daam-eet!

I love Robert Heinlein. Just thought I'd say.

Ahh yes, my water brother, as do I.

"Glory Road". The reason I took up fencing!

"Friday". The reason I'm very careful of women...

:D

It's about time I read "Stranger" again. See if it stands up for me now that I'm older and wiser and have actually had sex.

Funny but I just took it off my bookshelf two days ago to reread as I hadn't read it in about 20 years and it had a profound influence on me when I was younger.

Stranger...

...and Camus' Sisyphys have shaped me morally. I am what I am today primarily because of the influence of these two readings years ago.

Jubal is my idol, but Sisyphus my alterego. I've reconciled this satisfactorily with in my self and live life daily with little fear of the future.

thanks, zipman7

Heh. I loved Friday, Stanger, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress...I went on a Heinlein kick a couple of years ago. I think I spent a year reading everything I could get my hands on.
