Strange Rating Behavior

In the ratings statistics for my stories, I’ve noticed that the reported number of views sometimes drops from the value that showed on the previous day. Similarly for the number of votes. Does anyone know the reason for that?

I've never noticed the views dropping but the votes can drop because the site runs sweeps to remove duplicate votes or votes they think are trolling or malicious in nature. And no, no one knows the exact criteria, as that would allow people to get around it.

Interesting...unless the views removed were those incurred while Laurel was in the process of posting the story. Other then that, views aren't tied to votes, so they wouldn't adjust went votes are removed.

I lose views whenever Laurel sweeps contests. Usually 6-12, but not from every story. My scores generally fall when she sweeps. So I lose 5's. Laurel is the man behind the curtain.
