I've been watching the ongoing second season of Star Trek Strange New Worlds. As run into the ground as all of the Star Trek series spin-offs have been this one is a cut above. Or at least that is my opinion anyway. The characters are new faces to old names played by some very good actors. After Star Trek Discovery which I only watched a few episodes, I lost interest in the ST Universe. Then Picard came around which hasn't been bad. But Strange New Worlds is just a better series. Is anyone else watching it? If so what do you think about it?

I feel ST:SNW started off amazing, and has gotten better. Been amazed by Anson Mounts take on Pike, as well as the rest of the cast.

While everything about the show is done exceptionally well, and has been a blast to enjoy - what I've really enjoyed is the more episodic nature of the series and it's ways of focusing on particular characters in a way that Discovery never seemed to get right. I do like Discovery, it isn't bad, and Picard season 3 was so much better then the first two seasons that I wanted to like more than I did. SNW however has been magnificent and along with Lower Decks has been my favorite Star Trek stuff since DS9.

I agree. I'm not into neverending serials and for the most part, won't continue watching if the series runs beyond three years. Discovery changed too much after its second year to continue my interest. Picard ended on the right note w/o overstaying its welcome. STN has been a breath of fresh air and Lower Decks was cheerfully irreverent.
