My question is this: What causes a story to have a negative feedback? What is is lacking in the story? I am asking because I need some advice before I post one. Thanks!
If by negative feedback you mean people writing there is something wrong, then you have an attitude problem use that kind of feedback as a learning experience - the things not to do next time.
Negative feedback is the sort of one liners eg "Asshole ya wok suks Anonymous" - Yes usually they cannot spell! You just have to ignore them.
Post your story, - it won't be perfect, no one is perfect - listen to the intelligent feedback. And write another story.
If you want really good feedback post a link on this site. (See Laurels Sticky)
Well, you ask a wide open question that if any of us had the answer for, we would never receive any negative feedback again. Serioulsy, you will always get a certain amount of negative feedback - it's inevitable. There are things you might (and I say "might") do to lessen it, but there are no guarantees.
The strongest recommendation I can make is to find an editor (or 2 or 3!) or a close friend who isn't afraid to hurt your feelings (tactful, in other words!), and have them give their honest opinion. Better to have some one who cares about your story being sucessful giving you suggestions than having some dork write, "The story sucked". If you work with an editor or friend, consider everything they say. Doesn't mean you have to do it, just keep your mind open to their opinions.
You will get some negative feedback. Luck of the draw. But, if you've taken the time to write your story, had it edited, you should get more positive than negative feedback. When you do get negative feedback, consider the words. If some one writes, "Your story sucked." Disregard it. Something about it bugged them and they aren't even giving you the courtesy to tell you what it was.
On the other hand, if some one writes to you saying that they didn't like the story because the characters were developed, or they got confused with the ending, or they give suggestions (valid), seriously consider what they are telling you. You obviously have a reader who sees something in your writing that they are interested in and wants you to continue to write, but wants to see you grow. This is a good thing. It's hard to take sometimes, but try to keep an open mind. You might just find your readers have some valid points.
Finally, even if you receive negative feedback, if they leave an email address, respond. Yeah, even the "your story sucked" responses (though they rarely leave an email addy). Let them know you read what they had to say, ask them what they suggest you can do to improve. If nothing else, it lets them know that a. you've read what they sent you, and b. you are interested enough in their opinion to want to know more.
Above all, don't be afraid to submit a story because of feedback. (You can always turn that feature off, by the way) Write because you like to write, because it satisfies a need inside of you. Not even the greatest authors the world has ever known were liked by everybody. Just keep that in mind, and good luck!
Here's a thought. Does anyone ever feel horny for no apparent reason? I mean, you could be minding your own business and suddenly, bam! you get aroused. If so, what do you do? this is especially for the men! lol

I get horny constantly! Sometimes I just go and do the ole five finger or sometimes if I am out in public I just try to ignore it. Hard sometimes to do though.
Oh yeah, trolls are the worst when it comes to spelling and punctuation! I wonder if they (trolls) were former Lit. authors, as many, not all, of them have crappy spelling skills too!
A story should be penalized heavily for having shitty spelling, it makes it difficult read!
And whiteboy, you are giving us waaayyy too much info about yourself.
