Could some of the authors/editors tell me what the
average turn around time is for stories. I submitted
one a couple of weeks ago, in what I thought was the
proper format.

I have not recieved any replies, it has not been
posted, and questions emailed about it have not been
answered.

Could it simply be that the story "stunk" and it won't
be posted? Wouldn't I get some notification?

I'm new here so forgive my ignorance.

The following link has part of your answer, and a link to more of your answer:

As you might have guessed, this is a fairly common question.

The current lag is about 8-10 weeks, and will keep getting longer until the new script based submissions are online.

The only acknowledgement you'll get is a "thank for your submission" e-mail from Laurel. From that point, it's about six weeks away from being posted.

Last I heard, this site gets about 50 submissions of all types (pics, poems, profiles, and mostly stories.) You can check the new stories page to see that only about 8-10 of those get posted everyday.

This 8-10 story rate is about the most the current manual posting procedure can handle, so Laurel and Manu are working on getting a script based version of the site debugged and online. That should reduce the delay down to no more than 48 hours.

Follow the links into the old messages, and you'll find a lot more info than you wanted to know. It all boils down to "be patient Your story will eventually get posted."

I know what you are going thru.

My first story took a month to get published and that was way before the current backlog. I was going bonkers at the end wondering if I was even going to be posted. The wait is worth it. This site is the best on the net for erotica. Both for readers and writers. Just hang loose and it will cum out okay as long as you followed the story submissions guidelines and the story is readable.

My story was posted today. FYI, It took about 9 1/2 weeks from the day they acknowledged receipt.

Q: This was my second story. The link at the bottom of the story only references the latest story. Should I ask Laurel to fix it or is there something I was supposed to do when I submitted it? Not that it's a big deal or anything...

A quick note probably would be fine.

I like to thank Laurel and Manu when ever they post one of my stories. If I find a mistake (usually my own in the story) or something I'm not sure of I put it with that note. That way even though you are asking for them to do somthing for you at the same time you are giving them positive feed back.

From my one experience as a webmaster people are quick to complain but slow to praise sometimes. By doing it the way I've said it it tells them how great a site they have and helps them keep the quality there. With the thousands of screens of the site I am very surprised how well they keep it so error free.

They put in a lot of work but are human. ( I haven't had a chance to look at their necks for bite marks and they do seem to keep rather late hours so they could be a little vampy!!! Especially since they seem to be putting in 24 hour days sometimes. hehehe ) They seem to read our minds sometimes too! Cum to think of it they may just be "super human"!!!!
