I submitted a story and it was rejected with a vague reason. I would luv for someone to further explain to me what needs to be changed in my story in order for it to be accepted. Anyone interested???
Thanks
 :

Well, like your rejection, a little more explanation would definitely be in order.

It may only have been rejected for formatting or something equally technical. Tell us more.

MORE EXPLANATION

You might say that I'm looking for a EDITOR. I would really like to have somebody who know's what Literotica expects to look over my story and give me their advise. I did use an editor that was provided, from the list, and they read my story and said it was fine to submit. Now I'm at a loss here and would really like someone to take me under their wing, so to speak, and show me the ropes. :D

Does anyone else find that sentence bothersome?

What was the reason you were rejected?

Thanks for asking...apparently my story wasn't submitted in the style that Literotica prefers...now my task is to find someone who can show me what I need to change...someone who knows what they are doing thus, the reason I came to this forum...:D

Dear MOM,
Have you taken anyone up on their offers to help? Couture and Gauchie seem willing, and they're both very good.

Thanks for your concern...I've contacted Couture via email with no response, as of yet, but i've been doing a little research of my own and I think that I can re-write my story and then it will be accepted...:D

Apparently, MOM (after three direct requests) can't seem to be able or willing to cut and paste the exact reason for the rejection and dances around it. So, maybe the rejection reason wasn't quite as "vague" as he/she would have us believe?

If MOM knew the reason, he/she probably would fix it his/herself.

You can send the story to me at

couture_writes@lycos.com

My primary account (couture_writes@hotmail.com) I use for feedback etc. is almost full.

Please send it as a word doc or rich text.

I didn't start this thread with the intentions of discussing the reasons why my story was rejected with everyone who asks. I started it hoping that someone would be nice enough to volunteer, a little time, to read my story and give me their feedback. So far, Couture has been the only one that has offered to help me and I'm waiting for her response. If you are willing to help me then please state that in your reply. Please don't write anymore negative things here. I'm discouraged enough as it is!!!

My: Please don't be discouraged, we all go through this to varying degrees, really. I was about to post on the above unnecessary judgement, but I'll just say to you - ignore it. I'm sure you'll see Couture's response above. Good luck, stay with us.

Perdita :)

The reason I ask what your rejection was is that many times it's not as complicated as it might come across. Since you're reluctant to be specific--which is fine--you may find the following thread in our editor's forum helpful:

https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=5086396

It has just been updated. The editor gave me a bit more of a heads up.

If your rejection is not in there, that's fine as well. I don't edit stories, but if I know why you were rejected, I can usually tell you how to fix it so that you won't be rejected again. This is why I'm the moderator of the Editor's forum, to help you out.

Thank You too Perdita!!!:)

My...
I'm sure there is not one person (other than KM) who hasn't had a story rejected at one time or another. (I have one or two I wish had been.) We have all been through this.

When Laura edit/reveiws the several hundred stories every week that are submitted she can only judge each by a fixed and published set of rules and has little time to provide a detailed explaination for a rejection. My first story was rejected with a somewhat cryptic remark that took me days to figure out. I don't think that's unusual.

The people here who have responded truely are trying to help you. But having been through the process they do have questions like, what was the rejection comment, what form was the story submitted in, were there special requirements for formatting. All these would help any of us help you answer your question short of a rewrite.

Welcome to the animal house. Post and have fun.

Thanks for the heads up everybody...

I just submitted a couple of my stories, and hope that they too don't get rejected. I guess I'll have to wait and see, huh. I'll check out that link Muffin, it may help if they are rejected. Thanks.
