My submission got rejected a week and a half ago and instead of being told what I wrong, I got a bot response that doesn't tell me jack shit. I can't fix the mistakes I made in it because I don't know what they are. I've contacted Laurel about it, but she's being the definition of unhelpful.

Was there any non-consensual sex where the non-consenting party didn't clearly come around to enjoying it? Any sex where one or both partners could reasonably be construed as underage? Any bestiality? Those are the big three to avoid.

The rejection will have some comments about why. Admittedly, it will be generic. Copy it here and we can have a look.

It's funny, I got a rejection last week and it told me why. Maybe they have a set of responses for certain types of rejections.

If they're not telling you why, go through the submission guidelines and see what they don't allow, maybe you can find the reasons there.

Message me if you want if you need someone to give the story a glance.

I submitted a story recently which got rejected with the standard response about the site not allowing snuff/vore stories. I checked through it to see the possible reason, found nothing, and submitted it again with a note to Laurel to that effect. It was rejected again with the standard response.

I then sent a polite pm to Laurel and, although it was over a week later, the story appeared. Hopefully if you do something similar you’ll be successful.

Sometimes it’s just a word or sentence that’s taken out of context when the story is checked. The links below should give you more information.

I’ve just realised the first link in my previous post was to a similar thread you started. I should be more observant.

There is a set of generic rejection notices. Nothing is tailored specifically to the story being rejected, the author has to figure it out for themselves.. The AH has a bunch of writers who know the reasons for rejection pretty well, and with some help, most people can figure it out. There's also a collection of editors who can advise. As Agiel has noted, it's usually down to a sentence or two, that can easily be fixed.

When you say contacted Laurel, do you mean via PM through this forum or the contact us on the site itself? If the latter it hasn't worked in a decade which is an issue in itself, but if you PM< her she generally gets back, but maybe not the same day.

As for the reason, there's usually a message with a question "did your story contain..." or there's one for grammar and formatting I think.

The way you know is on your control panel there's a link for sent back stories, you won't get notified you have to check it when you're checking on your pending story.

Its a lame frustrating way of handling it, and gets more frustrating when no matter what the rejection reason was you'll find a thousand stories with the same issue that flew right through.

And you haven't told us anything about it in either of your rants/posts. No one here can help if you don't work with us. Considering your tone in both posts, site Admin may have decided not to respond to you if you used that same tone in your messages/inquiries.
