Story symbols

What do some of the story symbols mean? I understand that the red H means a hot rating, but what does it take to get that?

What do the other symbols mean? Also, is all of this explained somewhere that I've missed?

Well, gee, RH, it'd sure be great if they had an F.A.Q. or something to answer this type of question, eh?

So, you've been here 3 1/2 years

24,000 posts, and you're just getting around to asking that question?
Something smells rotten in Denmark! (No offense, Denmark - it's an old saying here when something smells fishy - another saying)

Well, good luck with your new story. That's the one with the little yellow "N" next to it. Congratulations on finally starting writing.

I've been more of a reader and poster than a story contributor. I've had things that I've written, but I've had to modify them to fit into Lit's guidelines. I like to flirt with age limits, and they tend to not like that kind of flirtation, for instance.

I've always known what the N's and H's are, but the rest have confused me until I decided to actually look for the answer.

Well let's get on with it then--enough of this instant gratification!
