Story metrics not updating

This might simply be an issue of different servers not syncing or something, or just lag, put I wanted to ask:
In my control panel, I have notifications of four people favoriting my newest story, but when I open ‘Works -> my stories’ it’s still listed with only one favorite, several hours later.
Is this just a matter of lag or is there some other issue lurking that I’m unaware of?
Or did some of them just change their mind and un-favorite it?

The feed always says "favorite" but it also gives you a hit when someone adds your story to any other list. It may not even be a public list that you can view. Only favorites are displayed anywhere on the site for the time being. The rest of the lists are sort of in the background.

If you click the little download arrow in the far right of your control panel works page ( the area where you can click title, date, etc to sort your listing ) it will download a listing of your stats. You can open them in any spreadsheet program, or just view the file with a notepad type text viewer, though it won't be quite as easy to read.

There, you'll see that in addition to favorites, there's a column for "lists" which tells you how many lists your story is on. It's the only place that information is available that I'm aware of.

Or, it could be exactly what you said and someone added you to a list until they read it, and then removed it. The favorites list has been used as a bookmark of sorts by readers about as long as the feature has existed.

I probably shouldn’t get too hung up on it, but I like to follow the reception my stories get.

Those three rectangles are covering the same name. Did one person add the story three times? No.

That stuff really confused me until a more experienced writer gave me @LiterallyLiterate's explanation.
