Definitely not out-played. The concept has got lots of life left in it.

The trick is to balance the yin and the yang. The attraction is obvious (sexy older woman who promises a world of unknown bliss), but the danger can come from many angles: friend of the family (as in the movie) who can ruin social relationships. But she could be an authority figure (his father's boss who could fire him), a social hot wire (girlfriend's hot mom who could come between him and his young squeeze), a career obstacle (on the college board, could accept or reject him), or any number of other dangerous types who you don't dare piss off.

I like thinking of the different situations that raise natural drama and conflict.

The authority aspect could be fascinating to overturn, throughout the course of the story. I.e., she enters into such behavior underestimating him, and/or feeling 'secure' in her own position, only for him to eventually dominate her through whatever means psychological/emotional, or otherwise; and in fact, once there, not 'throwing her away'/letting her go, but her 'punishment' being its permanence...which might not necessarily be at all unwilling.

Thoughts, anyway.
