My edit for my story 'Celine' has been in Pending since the 20th of June. I have made some corrections for typos and added an additional paragraph for flow. Please review and replace the old copy, mods.

Every time you pull it back and resubmit, you start the clock again.

Edits are low priority: 2 - 3 weeks or longer. Patience is needed :).

In addition to what everyone else said: the moderators of the forum have nothing to do with story editing. They're volunteers. Only Laurel, the owner, can do story-related things like publish your edited version.

New author here. Is it true that edits can take that 2-3 weeks to post? Curious why...because you need to link it to an existing story (so as not to lose likes, comments, views, etc)?

The real answer is: "We don't know." The site owner, Laurel, has not explained. Best guess: she is busy, and edits are her lowest priority. One of mine took over a month to post.

Maintaining story stats is part of it, but also any edits have to go through the same approval process as a new story. The site prioritizes new works, so edits are at the bottom of the list.

That makes sense. Thanks all for confirming and for making the estimated/historic time consumption known. I guess the best policy now is to exercise patience and to write more stories. Haha.

Ah yes. I haven't pulled it back to resubmit. The edit submission was put in on June 20 and I haven't touched it since. Fingers crossed. In the interim, I'll work on new stories. 😅

Mmm, extra due diligence in editing first submissions will have to be the utmost priority in order to avoid having edits be submitted in the future. I understand that it's a thankless task and there aren't that many people with the authority to review and replace submissions.

I feel your pain.

It sucks to have to wait but with the volume of new coming in, it's quite an undertaking for the editor(s). I made a rather serious name error when making an edit to a story and now I am sitting waiting for the corrected version to be approved. I did put a comment into the comments when a couple made me aware of it but damn ... nothing like feeling like a dumbass when you make such a basic error.

Oh, well. It's a great site with lots of fun ideas that bring about other ideas.

Good day. As a poor newbie, I created a Series and instead of naming each work the name of the series I outsmarted myself and gave each work the clever name of the chapter. Well, the series is still pending moderation and has been since 09/01/2025. Is this typical? Did I include everything I could? I would definitely appreciate your guidance/support. PHD.

You don't mention making any edits. If you did edit them to change the titles, understand that story edits are Laurel's lowest priority. Mine took something like 5 weeks to take effect.

This was a helpful thread. I requested a story description and new tags in a single edit request. I don't mind if it takes a few weeks, and this is a good reminder to be careful before hitting submit...

Series can take weeks to approve. I've waited for a month on occasion.

One thing you can do is make sure it says "pending moderation", and not "draft" (I think). The process isn't entirely clear, and you wouldn't be the first writer who didn't complete it all the way.

Hi o/

I'm writing a series, too, and my works has been in pending since 09/02/2025

I really want to introduce myself properly, joining contests and such, but I'm not sure anymore. If I submit more stories, won't it just create more works to be looked at?

I have sent a message, too, so I'll just wait for now, I guess.

Have a nice day.

As long as I am not waiting a month to find I missed checking a box or failing to configure something correctly. It does say pending moderation, so I will practice that thing called patience! Thank you for the reply.

It happened to me twice. I think the process ends with clicking "Save", which leads to a screen that looks like you're done, but then you still have to click "Submit". The first time it took a month before I realised it, and then another month for approval. The second time I caught it after a fortnight.

Yes, I kicked myself both times.
