I got stuck in the last story I was writing, so I've been thinking about writing a different idea I had. I'm not sure if it's worth it, though, as it feels like the idea is so niche and slightly gross, that there wouldn't be an audience.

Male protagonist is a young guy in college, aged 19-20, who is an awkward, unattractive incel nerd with no friends who has never managed to even get a date, but is also super horny and desperate to get laid and spends most of his time watching porn and masturbating. He meets a shy, reclusive woman in her mid 30s, who is kind of plain and chubby and dresses in frumpy cardigans and the like and rarely leaves her cat-filled home due to social anxiety and has never dated either. They end up in a dysfunctional relationship out of mutual desperation. Due to a combination of the guy being super horny and desperate to get laid, and the woman being shy and submissive and willing to let him have his way with her, they quickly become very sexually active and he soon gets her pregnant.

The rest of the story revolves around him being too embarrassed for anyone to find out he knocked up a chubby 35-year-old cat lady, but also still wanting to have his cake and eat it and go back for more, so he moves in with her and they carry on like before. A year later they're broke and she's pregnant a second time, and he ends up having no choice but to go and grovel to his parents for money. I then had in mind an epilogue some years later, where they're unhappily married with a ton of kids and she's become massively obese, but they're still having sex multiple times a day.

I guess I'm not sure who this would appeal to, since it feels like a niche combination of taboos and fetishes. My main fetish is pregnancy/breeding. I also love the idea of a loser guy being so desperate for sex that it makes him reckless enough to impregnate an unattractive older partner. Is there any mileage in this idea, or anything that would make it better, or should I just give up on it?

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with any of that except the unhappy ending. People will read it. But most readers need something to feel good about in a story.

Why does it need to be so depressing? I'd rather read it as a story of two secluded people finding love and happiness together.

Hmmm... I guess I'm probably slightly depressed at the moment, which is why it ended up so depressing.

Maybe I should write it with a more positive tone and make it more about the two of them finding love in a fumbling awkward relationship.

Yeah, they don't have to have a happily ever after. But at least one of them should grow as a person. Maybe he could grow up, man up. Or she could clean up her act for the sake of the kids.

Maybe they both improve but grow apart. They're relationship is lukewarm but they can't quit each other because the sex is good and they can't do better or are afraid to try.

I think you have the roots of a story that goes exactly the opposite way. Where do they meet? Maybe a church potluck supper. Maybe they become the cleanup crew because everyone else is 'happy'. Don't be in a hurry to get to the sex. But they find out that little stuff makes them feel good. Does he have a big dick even though he has a schlubby bod? Does she have beautifully sensitive nipples? Do they sext some really filthy stuff even though when they are together they each are sure the other one would be grossed out by what they dream of? Slow sex scene where they discover that it's about how you feel, not how you look. Maybe?

Moreover, there's much to enjoy on the way, if it's written well enough and in the right way (however, I expect nearly everyone to disagree what exactly that "right way" is).

Let's go over it, main themes point by point:
- incel dork is getting a girl, EXCELLENT! Doesn't mater one bit she's a chubby cat lady nearly twice his age, it's still great. This right there could be the entire story and be great.

(Personally, my porn-y ideal is nearly flat chest, but my first real girlfriend had really big boobs, and rest assured I loved those too.)
- chubby middle aged virgin is getting fucked by an incel dork, in a humiliating way, HOT, HOT, HOT! This cater to not the most purest of romantic feelings, but is a kink in own right. (Not necessarily my kink, but looking around it's kinda obviously is for some.)
- unsafe sex and unplanned pregnancy, HOT! Its a kink to some, and titillating to many, even if not always admitted.
- breeding the.. stupid cow?.. repeatedly, HOT! Perhaps more niche, but perhaps even sharper kink, with possible nuanced subtypes. You're stating you're into some variation of this, so yeah, go for it.
- dysfunctional, yet ongoing relationship one or both are embarrassed about, HOT! Really, this perhaps is where it starts to get more challenging to actually make it hot (and what's hot may diverge very widely for different audiences), but apparently there's several tropes around those lines around, so it can be done and enjoyed. The very concept of keeping the relationship "secret" is titillating (perhaps because nearly anyone had been there in their teens, for one reason or another) and all the ways they're "incompatible" by mainstream assessments add to it nicely.
- the girl getting grossly fat, Hot! May sound strange, but that's apparently a whole fetish right out there. Sone people are right into stuffing the pig, some others may be into the self-humiliation of staying with the pig, and I may imagine it could be even done in a way to keep both happy.
- lots of sex, hot... in self explanatory way, but also, the two being not exact performance models there's lots of leeway for kinky dirty stuff and awkwardness that can be charming under the right angle and gaze.

Tangents:
- the incel dork WILL become more attractive to more attractive women once he's in a relationship (unless he's really, really criminally awful about it, and very publicly so, but even then). Especially if/when the relationship becomes public knowledge, but even before then, in ways that may seem nearly magical, but are most likely based on subtle nuances in presentation, namely confidence and contentedness (as opposed to the desperate hunger with is seen as repulsive in a man). Him noticing that or not, and yet staying faithful, or not, but going back to his cow, or not, could be powerful aside(s).
- the guy leveraging this relationship to eventually getting THE girl. Kids being involved make it somewhat more morally difficult to pull off clean, but if perhaps after being cheated on... really, likely a sequel stuff if at all in this setup, but worthy a mention as a variation on him getting his game together if nothing else.
- the chubby cat lady WILL be noticed by other men once she's in a relationship (unless she really, really awfully neglect herself even more). This is, and also isn't symmetrical to the above, but certainly rhyme.
- the chubby shy girl getting her game together, with or without direct incentives from her man could be whole another theme. Yup, it's directly opposite to her getting real fat in the most clische take, but not necessarily so completely, she may rediscover herself as a Big Beautiful Woman just as well.
- dependency and co-dependency, the way many relationships work, including, but not limited to, most toxic relationships. Construed the right way can even be very hot, say, by delving into bdsm elements, or exhibitionism, or stag/vixen stuff, but not necessarily so. It can as well be purely mundane and utilitarian. Like, one or both may not really have other easy options to relocate, the theme of financial parasitism on his parents may come right in here, and so on. Sure nothing of that is "hot" on itself, but the dynamics it may enable may still potentially be.

Happily ever after?
- they may grow, one or both, to a point where it finally works. Utopian maybe, but not impossible.
- they may open up the relationship, one or both straying, them fighting about it a bit once now and then, but still finding "safe harbor" with each other, on and off and on again, indefinitely, but with no warranty.
- one or both may find the "true love" aside, and if only one, then the other may sail into sunset with a sense of accomplishment still, being party of the other's growth and newfound happiness. Yup, that's maybe a bit unconventional as far romance endings are, but actually a very real.

I love this idea. Hate the age gap for some reason. Have you considered having both of them behind college aged? That would be not only hot, but highly relatable for readers imo.

I agree that there are some good ideas here, and also that it doesn’t have to be completely depressing even if much of the storyline awkward and sad.

Internal conflict is a hot driver of stories. How does the guy deal with this opportunity? Is he torn up about it because she’s ugly and older? How long does it take him to give in, and what sort of contortions does he put himself through?

How does he change? I can imagine a story in which he begins repulsed by her, but after time is absolutely crazy about her. Maybe in the end he has an opportunity to cheat with a hot young woman, and finds himself completely bored and uninterested. The older fat ugly cat lady has become his everything.

How does she change? Does she grow in confidence and become more assertive, demanding what she wants? How does he deal with it?

How does being exposed in this relationship change them both?

What makes her so ugly? This would be a good story for a detailed physical description. I can imagine a story in which he initially sees her as ugly, but over time the things that make her that way come to seem just quirky, or unique, until eventually those “ugly” features drive him crazy, turning him on.
