Stories You'd Like To See More Of

I was prompted to start this thread after reviewing the posts to verycuriouswriter's new thread "psychological segue." My question: Is there a type of story you would like to see published more often at Literotica? Do you feel there's something missing in the existing story catalog (other than story categories that are forbidden by content regulations -- there's no point in going down that rabbit hole)? Why would you like to see more of those stories? Can you give an example of at least one such story at Literotica that more or less fills this hole?

I'm not talking about adding categories, although there might be a good argument for that. I'm talking about the stories themselves. Verycuriouswriter suggested there's a need for more stories that delve into the psychology of the character going through an erotic experience, and I thought that was a good suggestion. Any others?

One of the reasons I started writing was because I was unable to find stories that I liked. Many suffer from a lack of verisimilitude that most people wouldn't mind. With that said, I'm not going to claim my writing is as real as it gets.

It would be nice if Angela Carter was still alive and writing. She seems to strike that perfect balance of wild fantasy that somehow kind of makes Jung's ideas of collective conscious feel possible. Despite the "dream logic" her characters' actions are oddly believable. Despite the lack of sex scenes getting brushed over the language gets so sensual that it kind of turns you on.

Maybe a category for minimal sex scenes might be good?

I hate to put a fellow writer on the spot, but LoquiSordidaAdMe's Cyberpunk story "A Motive with a Universal Adapter" needs sequels, prequels and spin-offs :). He blew about 80 percent of professional RPG fiction out of the water with his tale. Pitch perfect tone and amazing twists and turns.

I write those stories. Well, the ones I want to see published here and like to read. I have a whole box full of them... computer directory now, before they were in a box on paper.

In addition to VCW's suggestion:

There are a bunch of things that are heavily represented on Literotica, but mostly in a very fetishised sort of way. Trans people, non-monogamous relationships, interracial/cross-culture relationships... I'd like to see stories that acknowledge these as part of life, without making them into a SUPER BIG CREEPILY OBSESSIVE DEAL. AwkwardMD's "The Beast In Me" does this, with a trans main character who's not fetishised for being trans.

I'm not entirely sure this is what you're talking about, but I'm currently editing the next chapter in my Jenna series where my characters have a discussion about the male leads CFNM fetish, how it began for him and why it interests him so much. Which spung really from my attempts to understand why the fetish appeals to ME I suppose.

I'm still very new at writing, but as someone else mentioned, I started writing my own stories because frankly I couldn't find an author who was already writing them, or at least in a way that met my personal expectations lol.

I dunno, "sex fantasies" and "realism" seem almost mutually exclusive, but I think the best stories find that balance, and that's what I strive for in mine.

I don't think that is an oxymoron. I have no interest in unrealistic sex fantasies. Other than the two ghost stories I have written for the Halloween contests, I have tried to keep the sex in my stories as realistic as possible. And yeah, that includes characters not getting off, not getting erections, banging their heads, waking up the baby, stopping to search for a condom...

After reading I/T on this site for years, I wasn't seeing stories that had a good set up that made the two (or more) family members fucking be part of a plausible relationship, so I started writing them.

Of the three most basic types of incest - mom/son, brother/sister, dad/daughter - dad/daughter is the least appealing to me. A story I'd like to read but don't think I've ever have is a D/d story where the daughter wants to supplant the mom. "Mom's not taking care of you, Dad, so I will." And she eventually does with the mom's consent or condoning. I'm writing such a story now.

I hear you. And I don't necessarily have a problem with a straight up, totally unrealistic sex fantasy. Depends on my mood and how well it's written.

As I said, I think the best stories find a balance of both; allowing for exploration of an "unrealistic " fantasy within a "realistic" scenario.

I'm the same way. I enjoy gonzo, silly erotic stories, many of which are fairly brief. I also like erotic stories with more depth. My main complaint about deeper stories is they are too long for my taste. Generally speaking, I don't want to read "short" stories that are 10 Lit pages long. I seldom read them. So the ideal I look for is a story that can somehow pull off both things: getting to the erotic climax with reasonable brevity while making the journey as plausible as possible.

I got into the discussion elsewhere over the merits of longer VS shorter stories and publishing one LONG, complete story VS publishing continuing chapters.

Pros and cons to each of course.

Ultimately I had to decide to write and publish like I prefer to read other stories: in short, digestible chunks. Cover a major event, then end and save the next part for the next chapter.

And yeah, try to make it at least plausible if not probable at the same time lol.

It's been a fun learning process, hit or miss depending on what feedback I listen to.

Female detective/agent stories. I like when they're realistic and treated as something dark and serious.

Realistic doctor/patient stories where it gets hardcore, but still maintains a dark sense of realism.

The story I had in mind appears to have been taken down.

May I humbly suggest my story, The Doctor Is In...Me.

It's my first story I've ever written, so there's a few mistakes in it. But the feedback I've gotten so far has said it has a nice realistic tone to it.

I suppose you can judge for yourself.

Here's one, and I don't think I have the knowledge and perspective to write it myself: The near-future conflict between older, sex-binary people and culture, and younger, non-sex-binary people and culture.

Also, while I believe there's some of this already on Lit: Whether the sex-permissiveness in some of the 'Western' world can work its way into cultures that have hitherto forbidden that.

Sometimes I get comments and feedback complaining that they wanted more of a particular story. I am pleased to get those, but don't usually take any action. If a reader wants more? They think my story was good.

Thing is this is an erotica site, everything here is sexualized and fetishized, even if the author is not putting it out there as such, the reader is doing it.

Every category here is a fetish, if people read in IR its because its a kink to them, same for Trans, incest, non con, anything.

Expecting it not to be is like showing videos of a woman's feet on porn hub and saying they shouldn't be fetishized. This is a look at the source situation and as is often discussed here, no matter what an author's intent, we cannot help the readers interpretation.

Yeah, I like to think I could write something in the doctor/patient area that was somewhat realistic. I haven't seen any that fit this requirement, though.

I'd also like to write something involving a masseur/masseuse in that regard. I'm working on one now with a guy who is purely professional, but then, he starts to develop "impulse" problems, so he quits his job and tries to work on that issue.

Dinosaurs, I think...

Yep, Lit is definitely criminally short on dinosaur stories. I'll probably post one myself, as soon as I figure out how to put them into a sex scene. :)

Rex wrapped his tiny arms around her, pulling her in hungrily. "I want you, baby," he roared, then proceeded to eat her alive.

No bestiality except with fantasy creatures. Dinosaurs aren't fantasy creatures.

I agree with you 100% about the nature of categories. TG/CD, IR and so on are essentially fetish categories; not every single story in those categories, but enough so that the other stuff gets buried, and stories that don't play hard to those fetishes are likely to take a hit to their scores.

(Or at least, that was my impression last time I looked at those categories; it's been a couple of years so I don't know if it's changed at all.)

I'm thinking more of stories that aren't focussed on those things, not categorised by them, just occasionally including them as part of the story. Not every mixed relationship needs to go in IR, not every story with a trans character needs to go in TG/CD. There's room for some middle ground in between "this is the sexual focus of the story" and "everything else will be whitebread".

I don't write stories with a diversity checklist in mind. But there are plenty of trans, non-white, etc. people in my life, and it would feel weird not to include characters like that in my stories here and there. Sometimes reading Literotica feels a bit like walking into Stepford.

I know some authors do this, including people in this forum - for instance, "My Rise and Fall" has a mixed relationship that's important to the story without becoming BBC fetish fodder, and "The Beast In Me" has a trans woman who isn't particularly fetishised as trans. I'd love to see it happen a bit more.
