Stories Set In Ancient Times

...this has been on my mind lately. The idea of setting stories in ancient Rome, in particular, during Sulla's reign of terror, with a young landowner who is luckily on the right side of the new regime. He HAS been on the outs, and now takes his revenge, sexual and otherwise, on his enemies (who just happen to be enemies of Sulla, too).
Well, particularly on his ex-wife, who divorced him to marry a Marian (the opposite side) of considerable means. :D

Another idea is where prudish sisters are transported back in time to republican Rome. They are purchased by a prosperous knight (businessman), who makes them service him and pleasure each other. Eventually, they get used to their new situation and forget their prudish ways (and the older one forgets about her fiance, whom she had been "waiting" for, but now knows she will never see).

Meanwhile, back in their real time, the fiance mourns his intended and moves on with his life, thinking that she is dead. He also blames God and becomes an archaeologist instead of a missionary, like he had planned. He then stumbles upon a fresco that reminds him a lot of his late fiancee. He masturbates to thoughts of his missing lover (not knowing that it IS his fiancee) and fucks his new wife out of her mind (and she has NO idea of why).

Another idea might involve a soldier in Alexander's army. That might be fun. Maybe he takes several Persian wives and has lots of children. :D

I really like this story idea.. have you seen Timeline? This has shades of that book/movie entwined in it, intentional or otherwise - not the past locations, the sisters or the sex, but rather the fresco depicts those from the presenttime having an impact on the past. If you've seen the movie or read the Michael Chricton *THINK thats the way he spells his name* book, you'll understand ;)

It's a fantastic idea, I'm uberjealous it isn't my own, and wish you luck with this!

Actually, I think that I saw the movie. I doubt that it consciously left an impact or influence on the idea, though perhaps subconsciously. But that's only the image part, if that. The rest of it is definitely all mine.

Thanks.

well its really not much of a story point to the movie, just a nice ending to events, so that everyone knows that the one left behind made something out of his life back there in the past with his spunky bride :)

I really love this idea of yours thou, as well as the others but this is the one that rises up above the rest in my opinion - and think that, once a few more details and plots get fleshed out, could be a great read! Intrigue, politicical subterfuge, slavery, sexual domination and incest... hawt! :p

Thanks. I'm glad that you like it. I figured that a knight might be different. A lot of people, myself included, are too quick to be fascinated with senators and emperors, but a knight would be influential, if less well known. That gives me more literary license.
