Stories for "Couples" to enjoy...

We have been frequent visitors to Literotica for a couple of years and enjoy the site tremendously. We particularly search out stories that we can read together, rather than stories aimed specifically at male readers or (less often) female readers.

Reading Literotica stories together (or to each other) is a tremendous turn-on for us, and we suspect, for many other couples.

Any suggestions from other readers for stories that make for great "him and her together" reading?

We'll start off with a recommendation of our own. Just about anything by openthighs_sarah makes for great "couples" reading. Try "Impractical Cats" for example.

I do have two suggestions for you, pixandwords (if that is your *real* name). First, check out this board and the "Author's Hangout" and look at some of the writers who have frequent posts (KillerMuffin, MathGirl, Svenskaflicka, TheEarl, many more). Read the posts and see if you like the writing and the mind behind the writing, and then take a look...

Also, look at sweetsubsarahh's stories. Very sweet, erotic, wicked smart, hot, and lots of fun for a couple to read. Oh! and read ProofreadManx's "Descent Into Anal" (on the Anal top list) -- I don't know if it's a "couples" story, but it's very intriguing and classy and it got me wet. Hopefully other people on this board will have suggestions, too.

Thanks for the suggestions, Sarah! We'll start working our way through some of the stories by the authors you mention.

We tend to like stories that take time to set the scene and fan the glowing embers into a roaring blaze!

Just out of curiosity: what is a couples' story?

I've caught quite a bit of flack for suggesting that there is any difference in tastes between the sexes; that there is such a thing as a "man's story" and a "woman's story". I'd therefore be really interested in knowing what makes a "couples' story".

Just my opinion: A couples story is a story which acts as a catalyst for an explosive sexual encounter. Some stories are just fun to read, some are beautiful, some are great to get yourself off, and some are meant to be shared -- maybe because the images they evoke are so strong and lasting, and have appeal on many levels at once.

Of course that doesn't answer the question at all. Every individual is different and so every couple has to be different, too. So you're right -- it doesn't make sense. But that doesn't mean it isn't true, somehow. Maybe a smarter person can answer it better.

that's a good question.

My first reaction would be any story involving a couple would be well suited to provide fantasy fodder for the "reading couple".

But once you start thinking about role playing, then just about any story would seem to fit the bill.

To me a couples story would be any one that expresses a kink that we both share, or one that has an idea that I'd like to try (nothing like planting those ideas) or one that just turns us both on. I guess that doesn't narrow the field much or change much from stories that I like in general. Oh well.......
