Let's pretend you were in charge of the lives of 100 children. Suddenly a man is running towards the building you are in with a bomb strapped to his body. You know for sure if he gets inside he will explode the bomb and kill all 100 of the children.

Let's also pretend you can prevent the 100 deaths by killing the bomber before he gets close enough. Nothing else will stop him and there is no other way to prevent it.
