Most US soldiers would flat-out refuse to injure, kill, or subjugate their fellow countrymen, and would probably defect from the military itself if ever told to. However, a machine will do absolutely anything that it is programmed to without question or hesitation.

Autonomous weapons will engage and kill ANYONE without hesitation, even US citizens.

99% of US soldiers would refuse to injure, kill, or subjugate their fellow countrymen for whatever reason, therefore the criminally-hijacked US government needs the use of autonomous systems such as drones and robots to do the dirty work that patriotic and good-willed US soldiers normally would not.
